Which Westwood Command/Conquer game was your favorite? By the way, they did release Command and Conquer DECADE, which has every C/C game/expansion on 1 DVD...

Red Alert was my favorite by far......

As far as Westwood is concerned, I spent way more time playing Dune 2 than any of the C&C games. It was the original RTS.

I highly suggest you go out and pick up the other titles. You can pick it up for around 20 USD for most of the previous games.

I really did like Generals. Suicide Bombers and the Angry Mob... Those were the days.

Tiberian Sun was my favorite and still is because of the great selection of vehicles/infantry, the storyline, and of course kari wuhrer

If that was your criteria, then Red Alert 2 is the clear winner of TS

Yes, it is very doable, though my banana hands cramp up easily using the touch pad. Just buy a mini wireless USB mouse from Microsoft.

I think CC went downhill when westwood was bought out by ea games. The games are still really good, but not as great as the first ones. Red Alert was my favorite game for a very long time and it was the first pc game I ever really got into. Dune was also fun, I really like Dune Emperor.

Free Red Alert PC download from MS Marketplace

http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/ca...id=922&tabid=1

You can download mostly full versions of various PC games from Microsoft's Marketplace website.

More importantly, there are free, full versions of Red Alert (http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/de...fo&itemid=1584) and Tiberian Sun (http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/de...9#productSpecs) for download

Those demos don't work on Win2k or XP... 95/98 only.

Anyone know if the boxed set version supports XP? Did they upgrade the old ones in any way? For example, when the X-Wing Collection came out, it had higher resolution graphics - original was 320x200.

Hmmm... now I want to play X-wing again... I wonder where my disc is?...

The C/C Decade box set is 1 dvd, with all the old games. They run extremely fast on my computer...for example the original C/C, red alert/tiberian sun, all of them except Generals, which runs at a rather normal pace.

So basically, the upgraded the code so it will run under XP, but did not make adjustments for faster processors?

How bad is it? Unplayable?

lets just put it this way. You can either degrade the speed and build times are rather slow...or keep it on fast and have the AI nuking you within 3-4 minutes...literally....

Red Alert was the best one, but its tough to go back and play that after getting used to the graphics on Generals.

I am Downloading the Command & Conquer 3 Demo as we speak.

About 1,300 MB but it's pretty fast though my Gamespot membership.

Has anyone else downloaded it yet?

Well, I already uninstalled it. Something didn't like my laptop. It crashed me 3 different ways.

Anywho, I played the tutorial and it has the same look and feel of C&C's past. The same shitty acting is back too.

Will post second-first impressions later

I played the tutorial, looks good. I'll mess with it a little later. Can't wait to play the whole thing.

I did a Google search on CnC3demo, I d/l from some site in Belgium. No Charge, it took almost two hours.

Ok, played through the tutorial, and part of the GDI mission and so far, I am impressed.

The overall feel of the interface is very Generals, but the whole game feels very Red Alert-ish. I think that is because of the cut scenes and the more "personable" units.

I can already say that this is a buy for me.

One last thing, my PC is holding up very well with this game running at 1152 resolution, high everything (except Shadows) and no AA.
