But hey, even on the races where F1 carts were not allowed, I still got 1st, so to you haters!

Now, I'm not quite done the game as I am now practicing to get that freakin' Vitz series down (Thanks to TSX 'R' US for the tuning sets)...
Practice?? Just load those settings up and drive...as long as you can hang with them, their tires will run out and you'll pass them before the finish.

The best is when you discover (as I posted earlier pages ago) that certain LM cars with AWD are qualified racers in the Rally series. Well...after that...

You serious?!?? Okay, I'm not going to boast to say I'm the best in GT3 because like I said, I did have a tendency to use stronger cars in races that allowed for it instead of driving to the competition. But, I'm not that bad either as in the other series races in the Pro League that forced you to use the same car as the field, I won 1st.

So, we get to the Vitz Series...By the time you get to the Special Stage, you get no oil changes, and by lap 2, I was mega behind the leader. I had no chance of catching.

I've been so scarred from that series that I haven't dared it since except practice the course with your settings just to get better lap times. I WON'T LOSE A SINGLE RACE, DAMMIT! MUST HAVE PERFECT RECORD!

oh yeah, for what it's worth, the driving model in NFSU2 is GREAT... drifting is very good in it.... I love how the wheel feels when you counter the drift... most realistic-feeling drifting I've felt...

let me ask you this guys, what controller do you use for GT4??? eh??

I've played lots of GT3 with the standard PS2 controller (and love it), but my recent outings with it have only been with this:

http://www.dljsystem.com/detailsInpu...?productID=382

it's a PC steering wheel that is never listed as being compatible with PS2.... yet when you plug it into the PS2's USB port... something magical happens. works perfectly with GT3... hope it works with GT4 too, I have 2 of these wheels (and another one) - and am really not in the mood to buy a 4th one with the 900 degrees of rotation, unless I try one and it's like, REALLY REALLY good.... lol

a perfect record...I killed mine... I didn't realize it kept track of my record till I was well into the game

You know you could just re-race when you lose...just save the game after each race in the series.

after I got the Subaru Impreza LM edition and modded it to 950ps or whatever... it was over....... lol

is that cheating? maybe. sometimes you gotta do what you have to do, I think we've all done it in GT3... you know you are pulling some shade when you start lapping the computer cars like butter... lol

I just don't have that kind of time...

Yes, I have done that. And since 6 months ago, my save progress has been at the Special Stage.

I'm soooo tempted to do that quite a few times... But I didn't want to take a loss

I raced 20 laps of cote de azur (whatever it's called) at least 5 times before I got the car I wanted

So is there a total of like five or six people that treat this thread as their own personal chat room?

My GT4 review

I got the game 2 days ago in mail, 1.0% is completed in GT mode. So these are some of my thoughts of the game so far:

-1080i mode ROCKS with my Sony KF42WE620, fake 1080i or not.
-the LFE channel(Dolby Digital 5.1) in the opening movie is quite weak.
-the layout of the GT mode sucks, you probably need to take some time to get used to it. I like the GT3 layout better.
-My game is SCEI's Chinese version. I have found some typing errors in my short playing time already.
-graphic wise, GT4 is slightly better than GT3.
-you can't use your cars to play the arcade mode.
-too many licence tests in this game(16 tests per licence, OUCH.)
-700+ cars is no joke, some of the cars are pretty interesting like BMW 120i, Audi S3, SL65, NSX-R etc.
-in-game Pro Logic II effect is pretty good, especially in replay.
-FINALLY, the HONG KONG race is amazing!!!! (I was born and rised in HK)

this is supposed to be "fixed" for the US version... it's disappointing that after THIS much of a delay, still there are issues with the game.... I mean, you would think.... I dunno...

In the about 3 years between them I had hoped to squeeze a little more out of the PS2 though. They have done it with other games

Oh, and you're welcome

Same with Halo and Halo2 for the Xbox.. Halo2 is slightly better looking, but nothing huge

Naw. Well, I hope the mods don't feel that way. But, I think we're probably the only few that are THAT stroked for the game...

I usually get my import games at www.play-asia.com. Well this time I ordered GT4 along with Ayumi Hamasaki's latest album at www.yesasia.com. Not a bad site at all, they offered free shipping to North America areas.

since when does the ps2 have a video encoding chip to even produce a 1080i signal, let alone the video power to produce graphics at that resolution? does this require a special adaptor or anything?

and you thought they hadn't gone anywhere in 3 years.... well not you, but someone else.

It's not a true 1080i signal... it's an "upconverted" one or something. All the reports I've read say it looks better than the normal mode...

since when does PS2 have the ability to do Pro Logic surround sound???

strength by application, guy...

it's an ongoing, continuing discussion about GT4. I would say it's better to keep it in one thread than start new threads for each topic. There are probably like 10 things in here that could have been separate threads. Then you would be complaining that there are too many threads about GT4...

Wow, so he is playing it at 1080i and the graphics are only "slightly better" than the 3+ year old version

I will still buy it, but I guess my hopes were too high
