no info yet about what type it will be, but Infinity Ward is confirmed to be at the helm.

I just hope they come out with some new maps for COD4 from now til the holidays.... I still love playing the game live, but in order for them to keep interest, they really need to add new maps
i liked how COD4 took place in today's settings. WWII was getting kind of old.
has it been confirmed if COD5 is going to be europe again? it'd be cool if it was maybe the pacific front.
and i hope COD6 is modern too. not really a fan of future war/shooting games with futuristic weapons.

I think they should make all the cod's modern from now on
+1 about tired of WWII games. Modern or slightly futuristic warfare is where it's at. Have the guys at Infinity Ward start using the stuff we see on FutureWeapons!
I also agree with is300 - we need some new maps to hold us over to COD6

but like i said, i wouldn't mind another WWII COD if it had a different change of scenery.
i'm tired of europe. i wouldn't mind seeing japan or south pacific. i remember rumors of that being in COD5, but i don't remember if that's going to be true or not.

If I have to shoot up yet another French village I'd snap the game disc in half.

yea i want COD6 to be modern too, but i think what they mean by future would be like 5-10 years from now, not like way into the future with pew pew laser guns, flying ships and all that like battlefield 2142, but instead like how other games had the XM8 , SCAR, HK416 and other prototype weapons in them.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare launched back in 2007 to rave reviews and massive sales. Considering its success, it is no surprise that Activision-Blizzard recently announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Activision-Blizzard announced this latest Call of Duty game at recent event in Manhattan, New York called Massive Inc. Besides the announcement that the game exists and is scheduled to launch in fall of 2009, no other information was given. This is understandable, however, when realizing that the games launch is nearly a year away.
Call of Duty 4 was an incredible game that raised the bar for all first person shooters. With developer Infinity Ward back at the helm after Treyarch developed World at War, we can expect yet another groundbreaking shooter come next holiday season.
