I picked it up today but my XBOX isn't back from repairs till tomorrow. I bought it at Circuit City and they gave me a $10 gift card with my purchase.

When I went to pick mine up last night, strolled in at 1:30 since at 12 there were literally 300 people in line. They told us to have our ID's out before we even went into the store.

As for all you people who want cheap deals, just trade in some games and get it. I traded in a few games and knocked 2/3rds off the price with games I will never play anyway.

Have any of you guys watched TV in the apartment! highly recommended, that shit's hysterical! I'm watching some TV show called Republican Space Rangers, it's about some dumb cursing good ol boys wearing master chief outfits and killing insurgents in space!

I've been playing non-stop from 10:30 until an hour ago when the power went out . It's been great so far, I like the new car handling and how it's a lot more realistic. You can't get away with stealing cars or beating up and killing people like you used to, citizens with cell phones and the cops are really tough. It makes you use weapons more sparingly and makes you think twice about blatanly breaking the law, which I like. I just wish more of the city was unlocked in the beginning

Damn I'm addicted. I started playing with 3 of my friends and we just started causing havoc in multiplayer and doing the co-op missions.

There are some little knick knack things that bother me that dont really affect gameplay at all. One of them is being driving and stopping completely... when you come to a full stop your reverse lights come on and you back up a little if you don't let go of the trigger. Much harder to kill people, I used to just box people fists only for the hell of it but I don't find myself doing that anymore.

What does bother me is that you can't just hop in the back of someone's pickup truck or on their boat and just do drive-bys. I tried to jump into the bed of an occupied Bobcat and the game glitched.... Niko started running sideways and I couldn't control him until he hit a wall, at which point he took damage. Its weird, you gotta try it yourself and you'll see. I also tried to tag along on a boat with my friend and shoot people while out at sea but I kept falling off the boat. I think I'm just used to messing around on Vice City and San Andreas.

I wish the 360 version had the chick licking the lollipop. My coworkers were joking that you could probably really put drugs and a gun in the lockbox.... its pretty nice, and so is the duffel bag. Way better than the Halo 2 and Halo 3 CE overpriced garbage.

so I played about two hours last night, here are my impressions

liked:
-story and great production value
-really like nikko as a character
-the city is huge and the architectural variety is great
-graphics are good, but not as good as I thought they were going to be.
mini games are cool

didn't like:
-terrible turning raidus of the cars. also taking turns at high speed is near impossible, even with the e-brake. i feel like i always honk by accident as i inadvertently press the left stick down (COD 4 habit?)
-the controls will take some getting used to. so many buttons and everything changes depending on the context
-i called michelle at night once for a second date. that bitch was asleep. wake up damnit!

Also on a side note, something that i have noticed with other GTAs....the games are dauntingly huge. I want to do everything, and explore, but there is too much content, it would take way too long. And i get the feeling that I'll never find my way around the city on my own...like, ill never be like, oh, gibson st! let navigate there on my own. at least they have GPS

Also, does anyone know where to park your car so that it saves it in the garage? I can't seem to find a garage near the safe house

Also, i really like how it saves after each mission automatically.

I do the same thing, I somehow think the harder I push down on the stick the faster I am going to turn. I'll learn when I break the stick off my controller one day

FYI, you do get a hang of driving pretty quickly, I think the driving has much better/entertaining physics than in previous game.

Niko as a character is phenomenal...

My thoughts after playing for four hours:

- Great game graphics-, story-, everything-wise.
- I'm still getting used to the controls; even on classic setting there are still some differences.
- I don't like how the cars handle.
- I don't like how much it takes to kill people.
- I don't like how easy it is to arouse the ire of the cops.

I know, that's more dislikes than likes, but I'm sure I'll get used to those aspects. They do, as someone mentioned, make you more careful, which I'm not a big fan of; I like to go on rampages from time to time and want it to last more than two minutes.

As for where to park your car, on the street in front of the safehouse is a yellow rectangle with "Parking for residents only" or something similar painted in it. Just put your car(s) in that rectangle. I currently have a black 3 Series coupe (Sentinel, I believe) and a red E-Class (best handling car I've driven, so far). I saw a few of the exotics, but I was on a date with that stupid woman and couldn't get to them (this, along with the hanging out with friends aspect are two things I could do without, regardless of what you get for it).

A map is included with the game. In the case.

I spent about 5 hours messing around in the single player game last night, accomplishing a few of the missions.

Wow. What an amazing game. The complexity and level of involvement is mind bottling.

The seems to be more night time than day time. At one point I wondered where the hell the sun was.

The TV is insane...I didn't stop laughing, no matter what channel I had on.

I got the guide simply because I don't like trying to find the hidden objects (flying rats, aka pidgeons to shoot). I also like knowing where the free weapons are. It does offer little tips and tricks for various missions, but I don't read the walk throughs until after I've already beaten the mission. It also shows you where all of the encounters with the random citizens are (still not sure if I'm going to go through with these). I got 20% off by buying it with the game...since I was getting it anyway, it was a good deal for me.

Man the car damage is amazing. I was flying down a bridge with the car topped out, when I got to the bottom someone made a turn in front of me and stopped. I hit into the rear quarter panel so hard that it smashed the guy's wheel in and he couldn't drive off. Another time I hit the front driver's side of the hood on the cement center divider, I flew out of the car and when I got back in, it had bent the SUV's frame because the wheel was off center and it would pull to the left.
