I don't believe they said they won't be a manual.. Only that it will it not be initially released. It could be an option for a Type S trim, but this is Acura; so it won't.

It amazing that people can talk so much shit, but can't bother to back it up with facts. Yes, Acura says there will be an I4 8AT and a V6 9AT. Where does it say no 6/7MT?

Honest question. If it comes up so fast, can I get a link?

You're right, there's nothing from Acura officially stating that there is no manual available. They've only told us about the 8AT and 9AT. Motor Trend seems to be the only source I can find that mentions the manual option:

"There's no mention of a manual transmission on the TLX, so until Acura surprises us with a late-release TLX V-6 SH-AWD 6M model, the tens of buyers ready to put their money where their mouth is will have to shop somewhere else."

Fifth paragraph...http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...pe_first_look/

Bmw should keep it simple:

1 = 4 door
2 = 2door 1series
3 = 4 door above the 1 series.....

all the way up to the 8 series. Simple.

With the lease on my 12 Accord coming due in a few months I'm pretty much down to the following as its replacement:

2014/5 Accord Sport 6MT
2015 TLX (though not having an MT might disqualify it)

....OR on the used side, a well cared for:
06/07 Accord EX-L V6 6MT sedan
05/06 TL 6MT
07-08 G35S
07 BMW 335i 6MT

Tesla ultimately, just need more options regarding charging. I drive around 35k/year and usually don't wind up at home every night.

I was looking at the CTS-V but I really can't justify the fuel cost. Last year I spent around $6,000 on gas in the TL. I can't cut my mpg in half with the next car.

Ideally it will probably be the Mercedes CLA45 AMG.

Ah, you must have seen my fuel cost post on the CTS-V thread. My driving doubled in the last 8 months. While I can afford the fuel bill, and my business reimburses me in part for it, I can't ignore the cost.

I did. That's what prompted me to add everything up from last year. When my dad stopped riving I was in the S6 for a while but went back to the TL for the daily because it seemed like the gas needle never stopped moving. Sadly the Audi sits quite a bit.

My 3G TL had double the freeway fuel efficiency of my V, 30 mpg easy vs. 15.

I get a lot of smiles per mile, though.

That is what kills it for me. I do about 90% highway driving. The practical side of me won out and I refused to even test drive the V because I knew that I would want one. Felt it was best not to tease myself.

I'm beyond jealous of the V-Wagon.

Same here - however in LA with traffic being stop and go on the highway, it would be more comparable to city mpg.

My bad, 17-18 mpg at 80 mph on a flat stretch of highway. 15 mpg is the average on my commute , 60-40 hwy/city. My 3G TL average was in mid-20s. Not quite double, but significantly higher.

My 2G RL was much less efficient than that, averaging 18 mpg in the same commute. Just looked at the old numbers. Man was that car a guzzler, though on long freeway trips even THAT car could get 29 mpg easy.

So now I'm at 15 mpg average in a car with a small tank and which offers more smiles per mile. Not complaining but observing.....

The real question is Where does it say 6/7 MT?

If it is not listed, it means it is not there. That is THE fact, until Acura says otherwise.

Acura also does not offer 5mt, should they list it on there too?

The precedent is there with the current TL. They are pointing out their new features, namely high gear ATs because everyone likes to bitch about Honda's lack of them.

Acura hasn't said anything about the interior. Should we assume there isn't going to be one?

This all started out with a request to back up the claim that the 6MT was being dropped. All I got was, "I heard this" & "They don't say that". The Motor Trend article loses all credibility with statements like, "tens of buyers". It sounds like Moog wrote it. Why does that make me a jackass; because I care to have basis for my facts? Or is it only because I enjoy cars that Acura makes?

Do I have to spoon feed you?

If you hadn’t noticed yet, this means that the TLX won’t come with a manual transmission, as did the TSX and TL it replaces. That winnows Acura’s stick availability to a single model, the ILX, and leaves us despondent that one of the best builders of manual gearboxes is offering so few of them.

If you were that interested in it, you should have taken 2 seconds and googled the fucking stuff. It gives you the official announcement which clearly says the new TLX will be available in 2 different tranmission. Manual was NOT mentioned at all.

What more do you want?

And to add, you tried to pull a jackass logic on saying the same shit over interior. Stop acting like a little girl on the forum.

If I remember correctly, that's how it actually used to be. Odd numbers were sedans & even numbers were coupes.

Let me call the marketing director at Acura.

Will let him know that oo7spy needs his direct confirmation on this since he can't trust any sources on the internet.

Assuming it's good and it's still good in 2020, I'll go with the TLX. I guess that also depends on how I like the dealership and how well my TSX holds up. Also depends if I don't fall for BMW first (maybe a nice 2 or 4 series). Also depends if I have kids.

You do realize that you have pointed out two "sources" which only reinforce that Acura has not disclosed a MT option, right? One source even admits that there is the possibility. Acura has only released a prototype. There is still no interior. Do you realize how many times those wheels will change before production starts? They have 10 months to fuck up the TLX and not keep a MT option.

To say there will be no MT is a complete assumption. To say that there might not be one is the only logical conclusion. That was my only point. All I want is for people to realize that they are assuming. They have little basis for their "facts". It doesn't really matter who is right; unless you are privy to Acura's inside information, neither you or I know what all the TLX options will be.

Back on topic, my next car looks like it will be a 6MT 8Gen Accord EX-L coupe.
