Your next car? What would it be?
Tell me what you think would be your next car.
I'm probably going to trade in my 2011 Lexus IS 250 and get something else by August.
The most likely options for me would be:
2014 Lexus IS
2015 Acura TLX
2014 Q 50
2013 ATS

1. 2015 TLX provided the production car isn't drastically different than the prototype.
2. Audi RS4
3. Lexus IS350 F sport
4. Infiniti Q50 (if the bugs are worked out)
Right now, unless something really drastic occurs, I can't see myself making it down the list to option 2.

After that, I have no clue. The Q50 is too buggy at the moment or that would've been possibility #2. The ATS was also a possibility at one point, but quality issues and gas mileage have me keeping my distance. The IS may be #2, but it wouldn't be an ecstatic choice. So here's to praying the TL is not full of bugs and they don't screw up the MSRP to where it's a $50k+ car.
I love the Tesla, but it's in a different price class, and even if I decided to move up to that price class, there's no way I'd buy it as it'd be my only car and I like road trips. lol.

I'll probably be in the market for a sedan sometime in 2015. My family and I were at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit just a few days ago and we were able to take a close look at some of the new offerings from several manufacturers. Aside from the TLX, the 2015 Hyundai Genesis also piqued my interest. I like the exterior much better than the previous generation. The interior is top notch and can rival some of the best car interiors in its class. The best thing is the infotainment system. The 9-inch HD touchscreen is fast and very responsive, almost iPhone or iPad-like. It will definitely be in my test drive list once it comes out this spring. Hopefully it drives and handles well too.
If Infiniti can resolve the issues regarding the Q50's infotainment system and direct adaptive steering, I will also give it a consideration. Shown below is the Q50 Eau Rogue concept in fiery red.

Drove the ATS and wasn't crazy about it. The Q50 might be an option next year assuming they have fixed all the issues. But to get the fold down rear seats you need the highest priced option which is dumb.
Still they sold over 5,000 last month as most buyers don't bother to release a $40K purchase. If I were you I'd research it yourself before making a decision.
For now, my TSX is also our primary family road trip machine, because it is vastly superior to our Mazda5 micro van for comfort, safety, audio, noise suppression...the list goes on. If we dump the Mazda for something like an Escape or CR-V, then I'd like to get a smaller, sportier car like an FR-S, Focus ST, or maybe BMW 228i. (One of my wife's relatives has a low mileage, mint condition 2003 BMW M3 convertible he might sell to me, which would do nicely.)
If my car still needs to perform family hauling duty, then it's Lexus IS, TLX, BMW 3, or, if either comes to be, a Fusion ST or Mazdaspeed6. (The latter is more likely IMO.)
I really hope the Lexus IS250 gets the turbo four and a 6MT with the F-Sport package, because that would work for me either way. If that happens and I like it enough, I could envision just dumping the TSX for one.

I've got 2 of those on my list - TLX, IS and the ES. I'm looking at the hybrid model - probably another year before the IS hybrid comes to the US (available in Europe now). I'll be waiting for 2016 - they'll probably have the hybrid TLX and IS available then.
I'd go with:
Ford Mustang GT - 2015 or later model
Audi S3 or S4 - if S3 is auto only then S4 in MT form
Acura TLX - if they come out with a Type-S or a 6MT version
VW Golf R - 2015 or later model

Since I've only had my car for a year my list could drastically change by the time I'm ready to trade in.
2016 Mazda Miata
2nd generation Subaru BRZ
Kia GT4 Stinger (if something similar ever gets produced)
3rd generation Mazdaspeed3 (if rumors hold true and it comes with AWD)
2nd generation Fiesta ST (if they decide to sell a 3 door hatch in the US)

Well, I've had my truck for ~7 years now and I still love it as much as day one. Actually more since it's modded now. Plus, with the FJ Cruisers, you'd never know it's a 2007 b/c they never really changed the design!!
But, I have been getting the itch (isn't there a cream for that?) and this is what I'd be looking at:
Short Term:
Ford Raptor
Longer Term:
Porsche Macon
Porsche Cayenne GTS
Audi Q5s
Not sure what I want to do. I'll likely just keep my truck since it's a tank and is about 95% where I want it to be. Then I can just get a higher end toy in a couple years. We'll see. First world problems I know...

Hmmm, I have thread on this that will update once I do make a purchase but here's my list:
1: Audi A4
2: Mercedes CLA 250 4Matic
3: Audi A3
4: BMW 3series
Or a car I never thought I would consider..... No, can't say yet. Must wait.

RLX Sport Hybrid. Tint, 19" RonJon Inspyres, done.
or
TLX SH-AWD with 6MT (if it comes)
Still like the Honda Accord Sport 6MT, too, if I want to cheap out.
Haven't ruled out a smaller car, either......Fiat 500 Abarth, Ford Fiesta ST.....great fuel economy, lots of fun for the daily commute.
But all my cars are paid off right now, so I'm not in a hurry to do anything at all, and if I do, it will be a lease through my business.

Don't plan on getting one for a long time, but whenever I do get one it will be a RWD American V8 (if they still exist). Only thing I would consider anytime soon would be a truck in addition to my car.
I am already stressing out about this, and I am about 1.5 years away from getting anything. A key thing for me is that I cannot go without a manual, so that will affect what I do. If I keep my TSX as a second car (6MT), then I can look at whatever. If not, then my choices are more limited. I am in a constant battle with a desire to get something with utility for bikes, camping gear, etc, and wanting a manual sports car. I also like sedans, so a fast sedan appeals as well.
Stuff that's been on my mind,...
Vette (C6/C7)
Cadillac SRX
Some Cadillac V model
Porsche Macan (quite liked this when I checked it out at the NAIAS)
911 or Cayman
BMW M235i (although the interior was a bit disappointing when I checked it out at NAIAS)
BMW 3 series/M3
Audi S3 perhaps
