Working a 20v jap engine into my ae86 corolla!! *PICS*

Since this is not a toyota forum i post here instead...i just wanna share with my fellow a-zine ppl what i've been doing with a rwd corolla i found for $100...before you flame i have modded 99TL punk!

Engine/car specs:
ae101 4AGE "silvertop" engine (jap fwd engine)
160hp/162trq, revs to 8400rpm!!
Car is a 1986 "Ae86" rwd Corolla ---> i'll be drifting with it

This has a month in a lil unused "shop" filled with lots of shit. Working force= Me, 2 friends and my beloved mechanic who does the hard stuff 'cuase we're all 18 and younger.

The car will run in a week or two...still need mad underdash wiring work and who knows what else will come up. Waterlines are already finished but dont show in pics..i'm using an ae82 radiator so one of the hoses run ontop of the headers (not there yet) and the otherone from under close to the strut tower!! fuel lines/walbro pump = ok, tranny/20v = OK...wateva look at the pics!

1Pic = 1000words...this first two are worth 3000 a peace!!

This is the solution to ALL POWER STEERING PROBLEMS...by me btw...THANKS!!
the secret is removing the 20v A/C and putting a nut under the tensioner pulley screw so you change the direction of the tension

Original ae101 fusebox already connected/wired to harness!!

For all those interested i sell full 20v engine sets for a Co in cali...are his engines:

I spent ~ $1100 for the engine and most of the req swap parts (btw i sell these engines sets) and i'm expecting another $500-$800 on an electrician (already started working) but the labor is done by my crew = free

i got $1200cash offers for the car with the old engine which ran on 2/4cylinders...expecting it to be worth about $4000-5000 'cause of all the body/engine/frame/rust work i've done...maybe more

Not a common swap, came from a 1997 jap corolla "Ae101". My model it came with a 4ac engine (70hp @ crank) and it ran on 2 our of 4cylinders!! (there's a 112hp twin cam model = GTS)

Swapping for a silvertop or blacktop is like doing a 3.5conversion to a TL-p

20v 4AG-E "Silvertop" vs "Blacktop" --> (5valves per cylinder)
160hp/162trq vs 165/160trq
Redline: 8400rpm vs 9400!!!
Runs on Air Flow meter vs MAP (sidedrafted carbs)
notice how this engine has 4x ~ 40mm throttle bodies...sounds beautifull!
*researched 32mpg city 40mpg hw

Stock weight ~ 1600lbs
i have an urge to drive it again!

Pretty sweet, but how long do you think that belt's going to last with the idler pulley on the wrong side?

It may stay there, but I don't believe it's going to be too long before it frays and breaks. You're treating the serpentine belt as if it were an old-style v-belt. The idler pulley is going to crush the groves in the belt and probably shread it in short order. Couldn't you just pick up a different sized belt and let the idler push against the back of the belt instead?

o i see...that's must've been why my mech told me not to make it too tight. there's no way i can use the pulley any other way and i couln't find a belt to run crank-p.s directly...and even if someone makes the belt, how would i put it in?

I'm going there tomorow to finish some stuff...*i'll take pic requests*
