What do you guys think this car is worth?
I'm interested in possibly getting this car:
Link to ebay auction.
Ton of pics here.
For those who cannot see the auction, it is a 1992 Acura Legend LS Coupe MT. It has about 120k miles. Looks to be in very good shape, although I have not seen it in person yet.
The pros that I like about this car is that it is the LS trim, the highest trim for this year. It also has the MT.
Cons: Unfortunately it isn't the GS that came one year later that had the 6 speed and 230 HP engine. Also I'm not a big fan of the emerald green.
Its kind of hard to price these cars because of their relative rarity and feature content. It is not a collector car by any means, but Edmunds gives a TMV of $1,500 and I would have to agree it is worth far more than that.
I plan on having some reasonable figures in mind before I go to the dealer in person.

I only pay what it's worth. I would check to see if there was any head gasket work done previously. I would say 1500-3000 depending on oil leaks, tires, brakes, paint, interior, glass.

In Houston?^ No black interiors.
If it were immaculate aesthetically and mechanically, I would say $4k max. Still the chances of that are rarer than any Legend trim/year. With a vacuum system and EGR overhaul, an excellent condition one could run another 80k miles without many problems. Still, knowing the state of the head gasket isn't trivial on these cars.
I bought Legend #1 9 years ago for $7.5k and it was in great condition. Tell the dealer to GTFO.

But it seems all of the Coupes got the Type II in 1993 and then it was the GS sedan in '94 that got it.
Either way, this car doesn't have it.
Thanks for the figures. I knew 10k was too much but I wasn't sure 3-4 was reasonable. I'll show up with 3k tomorrow and see if they'll do it drive-out (if the car checks out).
I like Legends and spent some time driving one my parents owned. I think the price is on the absurd side, however. I'd also go $3,500 if the maintenance and inspection checked out. That's still a 20 year old car, after all, and I doubt it's been in a museum/collector setting.
