Took me a minute to realize you cut a hole in the floor.

Incredibly late response to this - Family is good. Life is busy. The kid is now a freshman in college. I also have an 8th and 10th grader. All of them are doing great.
Hope everything is going great on your end.
I'll actually be in Mooresville on Wednesday for a meeting. Small world.

Things are good hear but life is hectic. Things never seem to slow down but I think we all have that going on.

I'm 50 next year bro. It's odd. Things have changed a lot for me. I am driving the same 08 TL I bought in 2010. It's got about 300K miles on it and dings and scratches from years of kids bikes and teaching E to drive. That kid drives really well now but loved to hit his basketball hoop with my bumper when he first started. I'm about to start teaching J to drive. He's almost 14. Figured I'd get him started in parking lots. R doesn't want to get her shit together so she is not getting to drive anytime soon.
Work keeps me on the road a ton. The rest of the time I am busy with kids. No time for my vices anymore. Gotta say - it saves me a lot of money. Once all of them are out of the house I will upgrade the TL or maybe I will find another one just like it and start again. That car is perfect for me.

It is that time for the annual dragon trip I organize with some friends every year. This year we went a little earlier than normal.
The contingent of people that come in from out of town and stay over at or near my house the night before so we can caravan up together has continued to grow. This was the largest yet. It was also tied I think for the largest group we have had up there at once as well.
In prep I had finally knocked out what I think is the final design of making a full magnetic system for moving the V1G2 easily between cars without buying a mount for every car and also allowing me to still run my V1G1 in a second car around town so as to be better than having nothing and not always needing to swap things around.
As people started to arrive we got underway getting everything clean for the trip. Tested out some of the Adam's Ultra Foam which was pretty thick compared to the Chemical Guys I had been using before.
You work up a bit of an appetite washing cars so while we did that I cooked two batches of wings on the Green Egg. Just shy of 9 dozen wings.
Largest morning roll out with 7 cars.
Instead of just take 40 to Asheville to stop for lunch on the way to the Dragon we decided to hit up Devil's Whip and then the Blue Ridge parkway for a bit.
Weather wise, it was beautiful but a bit of a bummer for driving as it had rained the night before on the parkway, so the roads were still wet.
I knew I was due for tires soon before the trip but I thought I was good for one last push on them. Well by Friday afternoon my tires said otherwise. This is only 6200 miles and it just had an alignment right after they went on. The other side was wearing perfectly though. So what do you do but switch the bad tire with the good tire and keep on pushing.
It was weird to see everything green cause we go so much later in the year.
It was good to see the water level up to the highest point it has been in some time though as well.
The tire couldn't be my only issue apparently. Hit a horrible bridge transition at a high rate of speed and didn't think anything of it at the time. Well apparently it pushed my diffuser up enough to push the exhaust into the bumper and leave it there. I now need a new lower rear valance on the NSX. Going to come up with a temp fix though by pulling it off and heating it back up and try and smooth it out as best I can for a while.
On the way back though met up with an NSX buddy in Asheville at Sierra Nevada. It has been on my list of places to visit for a long long time but with it being so far south of Asheville I have just never gone while I am up there to visit other breweries. I had heard for so long from friends who have gone how impressive the property was and boy did it not disappoint. The attention to detail on the entire factility is absolutely insane.
Moving the tire to the other side did the trick. It barely got any worse the rest of the trip. I did skip about 130 miles of driving on the second half of Saturday which once home I am pretty sure would have not been a problem to have done but I got some passenger seat time with a part time race car drive in the Turbo S so that was a blast.
