Nah, I've just had enough training on this shit that it's drilled into my head.
I don't know what you do for a living but going through all kinds of manufacturing facilities and working in an R&D lab with all kinds of power tools in use on a day to day basis, they make you learn PPE for good reason.
Agreed! I use a face shield when using a router for this exact reason.
The hilarious part of this is that you responded to your own joke.
I work with dangerous power tools all the time and still have all my fingers, toes, etc with only minor scratches. Don't be an idiot and you'll be fine.
So you're admitting you can't use a dremel because you're a moron?

I'd say this.. for as much work as he's put into the Vagon
It'd be a shame.. it's extra proper right now.

Well damn this spiralled out of control yesterday.
Put in a bunch more hours on this last night. Ordered some deep socket stripped nut extractors on Monday and they arrived yesterday. They at least were able to bight enough on one of the seized nuts to pull it off on the other side. Still ended up having to cut the other one out.
Finishing up the drive side I started on the weekend.
Grabbed my stone chisel and was able to pry back part of the cut nut. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to get it off.
Cut the extra pieces off to get better access
Also turns out that metal drill bits are more effective than cutting wheels at removing material
Was finally able to use the BMFH and Chisel to spin what was left of the nut. It took
And finally VICTORY!!!!!!!
The stud isn't too bad. Not going to replace it for the time being.
On to the second one. After the first one I decided to take a different approach and go with the grill for most of it. Seemed to remove the metal faster and also created much less mess since it wasn't sending find metal shaving dust all over my garage.
Some pilot holes to start
First opening
Drilled some holes from the side and then cut out what was left with the dremel
Carefully cut some more getting as close as possible and then knocked the piece out with the chisel
Cut a slit in the remaining nut with the dremel this time making sure I didn't do too far. Was then able to tap with the chisel and BMFH and get the nut to rotate.
A few little scars from the drill on the rotor but not enough to ever matter. They will need replacing soon anyways as they are at 75k miles.
What remains of the second one. Definitely learned a lot on how to do this. Knocked the second one out in a little over an hour so definitely figure the process out much better.
Take that you damn spacers. VICTORY!!!!! Theses bitches are going on the garage wall
And finally I can get the snow tires on the car for my trip to PA.
Only for the weather to never be below 24 degrees while I am there and mostly mid 40s during the day. Of course it would. Had to get them off anyways as I put Mich P4S on instead of the Contis I normally run since they didn't have them as fast as I needed tires for the fronts. The rears would have had the fenders sitting on with the 15mm spacers. So now I can get the rears mounted. Sadly during all of this I noticed that both rear shocks are leaking so now I need to decide if I want to put new factory ones in or get some coilovers. I knew the time was coming though so been preparing for it. Still not sure what I want to do. I do like the magneride.

You should list those spacers for sale. Some chump would probably still buy them.

Thanks for @rockstar143 and @KaMLuNg for putting up with all my idea bouncing through this mess. Oh and one of you guys for suggesting I go at it with a drill instead of the stupid cut wheels I was using. J style repayment available if desired.

I mean I almost feel like listing them for sale for $50 + shipping on the CTSV facebook page along with a warning and pictures of what it took to get the other two off the car and see if some sucker who loves a good deal doesn't care.
