By next Christmas I wouldn't be surprised at all if I were closing in on 100k. It shouldn't take me long to be one of the highest mileage V's out there. I should probably start a thread to find at what all maintenance I should be doing by that point that I might need to save up for with the blower and all.

For a more standard and not out there combo possible the bronze in that picture with a black chrome lip. Also maybe a combo like on this wheel from them which I also like.
I have another crazy off the wall color combo in my head as well but it wouldn't be as clean and classy looking as those two options.

^ Need to photoshop those on but I think they would look awesome on Black!
Not a bad idea. The CTSV guys would likely love a high mileage thread...

I probably posted this before or just shared with J, but I really like these wheels..
too much skrilla and work to make them fit though.. plus bronze on silver takes a lot more to pull off.

So the weekend of Nov 4, 5, and 6 two buddies and I went up to the dragon. This was my second time up there. First time I took the wagon and it was ok but not really made for those roads. This time I decided to take the TSX. First time ever I have taken it on a trip that was strictly about driving. On great driving roads to see what all the work I had put into it equaled. To get to the dragon you go right past Asheville, NC one of my favorite places to go. I love going to the mountains anywhere but with all the breweries and good food in Asheville it just makes it that much better.
All taped up and ready to go.
First stop of the trip. New Belgium Brewing. There main base of operation is in Colorado. However, they have become so popular they have now opened an east coast operation in Asheville to help supply the demand. This was my first stop there since they had opened in late spring. Had six samples to share with the gf although she didn't end up liking any of what I picked but she rarely likes a beer.
After that we stopped at the brew pub of one of my favorite breweries Wicked Weed. I had a sample of a great black ipa with peppers and then a bottle of one of my favorite sours.
Last brewery we stopped at, Burial, is my personal favorite. They only sell there beer right now in North Carolina and a little of South Carolina. They are fairly small right now but in the process of a large expansion. Had a belgian triple made with lemongrass.
I know you are all here for the cars and not to see the beer. We made a last stop before getting up near the dragon for gas. Gas up in the mountains is terribly expensive. You would think being a TSX and all it would get great gas mileage and all. Well that would be incorrect. With the supercharger upgrades and 1000c injectors. My best mileage on the trip was 19mpg and my worst was 14.1mpg. So the TSX and the Vagon get about the same gas mileage. How sad is that.
On to a day of driving. We started off with a trip to the bottom of Fontana Dam. The largest damn on this side of the Mississippi River. More pictures from the dam later.
After the dam it was finally time to hit the dragon up.
Picture from a scenic overlook.
While at the overlook my girlfriend spotted this. The dragon has been claimed by Acurazine......and about a million other stickers too.
Some shots of the cars together after we got to the bottom of the dragon.
Not stealing photos but haven't decided what shots I want to get from the trip. I think I am going to buy at least one shot from the dragon trip to frame for my office of the TSX.
So back to the dam. The lake behind the damn is on a ten year long drought. I forget exactly how many feet it is down but it is a lot.
The emergency flow control doors are not even needed and can't even be used anymore because it is so low.
Beautiful overlook of the lake
Some pictures from on top of the dam and the observation deck.
So to cap it off the TSX was 100% more fun that my Vagon was at the dragon. I will be heading back once or twice a year in the TSX. It has furthered my desire as well to build the TSX into a car for some light track duty. It will probably be receiving a wing, stiffer suspension, and some wider wheels and tires at some point over the next year because of this. I can say by far this is the most fun I have had that was car related in a long time. Shows and car meets are great but this was an absolute blast. It just kept on taking the curves as fast as they came and wanting more.

^what do you mean, Canadian beer is like moonshine! I love all the craft breweries popping up around me. The only downside to them is that they're usually higher in alcohol than mainstream beers which can make driving to them an issue.

ask me how I know that's true...
I've figured out the logic in full auto...brake to a stop, back to auto over manual...hold gas but don't give it much, it'll shift itself back to auto...
but in full sport mode it'll hold indefinitely, UNLESS you didn't touch the paddle shifters...then it'll shift in sport auto...
but sometimes i'll forget i touched it and gun it off the light and bounce hard AF off the limiter spitting and spouting shit out the back sounding like a banged up hooptie.
Uh...I mean, yeah, I think that's what might happen. Asking for a friend.

back atcha...
to be honest...having the car out for a week has really made me realize just how much I fucking love this thing.
I can't wait to drive it again...and although I do love how great the S2000 drives and how engaged the manual keeps me...
I keep thinking, I kinda wouldn't mind not shifting and moving my left leg all the time.
Acceptance! I love my V!!!!
