I mean I don't store it for the winter, I drive it during the winter months every chance I get, but once the snow hits and they salt the roads it stays inside until we get some rain to clean the salt off the roads.

if i can source a decent Recaro set, maybe i'll do the black interior swap myself... hmm...

White with black was a color option on the V.. You could have got all black or black w/ saffron

That is understandable. Mine only sees snow and salt about 3 times a year when I travel out of town to places that get it and when I get home I pressure wash the under side of the car everytime. Normally fit up an auto touchless car wash just for the under carriage cleaning.

Wasn't that limited edition on the coupe only though. The black seats and dash with red sitching? I really like the coupe that had the yellow incerts in the seats as well. That was my first experience with a CTSV actually. Sat in a black diamond coupe in cali when I was out there on a trip and it was just on display.

Wow. Your car had less than mine did when you bought yours and you smoked me in miles. I think I put like 4k miles on it in a year. lol

2k in 3 months isn't that bad for an extra car. You'll never catch J though. Dude puts on 1k miles getting groceries...

yeah, I have a 10 mile daily commute...
and can sometimes take the S2000 instead or the wife's car on the weekend...
although she does enjoy driving the V on the weekends too when we go out. It's that kinda thrill.

Shiet...Kam'll do black interior swap...I'll do a vinyl wrap = profit.

At the price we paid, Andrew...I honestly think we couldn't have gone wrong no matter how you slice and dice it. We could sell our wagons TODAY and walk away with all our money in.

My commute to work is 1.7 miles. So it definitely doesn't play into the miles I put on it at all.

Since I have bought the wagon I have made like 7 trips to PA, 4 trips to Pittsburgh, and 1 trip to ohio. Each of those on their own is 1000 miles or more round trip. We never take my GF car anywhere so any places we go together is always in my car.

You could always get the black recaro interior, originally I wanted a silver or white coupe with black recaros, but either way they had to have yellow calipers. Then I saw the silver with titanium interior and I was sold.

Regarding the limited edition, for the final run of the 2G CTS-V for 2015, Caddy limited production to only 500 coupes and these cars came standard with the Ebony Recaro interior with red stitching, metal pedals, the sapele wood trim, suede wheel and shift knob, black chrome grille, satin graphite wheels, red calipers..

And if I remember correctly they only came in White Tri-Coat, Black Diamond and Phantom Grey (I think).. My dealer had a black one and I almost traded my coupe for it but couldn't bring myself to get rid of my coupe. If it was a 6MT maybe it would have made me think harder.

That's it for me too...
to want recaro, 6mt and wdp or grey...I would have to find all 3 in one thing for me to be inspired...and they're always 15K or more than what I owe...so, nope. I'm good.
I just wish I'd have known how much I was gonna love the car to begin with because I might have bumped the budget a bit. If I had a time machine to a year ago I'd jump on that thunder gray with yellow caliper recaro 6mt wagon that the guy wanted $44k on...only caveat was that it was a gm exec program car but it only had 11k miles. So no warranty on it...and "rebuilt" title...so...
meh...maybe not...then I'd be stuck with something hard to sell down the line

both of those 6mt wagons sold in 2 days for almost 60K...the only ones remaining are the 76K ones listed

One of the reasons I wish I drove it more. I sold it for a little more than I paid for it but honestly, I probably could have put more miles on it and still come out ahead. I was just really trying to say below that 55k number.

They're pretty bullet-proof though... so you guys will get to enjoy them for years to come...

Honestly, DC...I wish I had known how low you'd be willing to go since you settled lower than the price we discussed...I wasn't in love with silver but and I would have been about $5K more for NOT black and recaro....

I've thought about that a lot, actually...
6MT would have pushed me to...but then you'd have probably been priced 10K higher.

^ Yeah... only reason I let it go for that it b/c we were going to pick up the AMG a few days later. Otherwise I would have pulled it off the market and held it until spring to get a few thousand more. In the end I didn't feel like having all of these cars and buying the AMG on top of it... so it just made more sense to sell. Still got a good price and came out ahead, so can't really complain.

It's funny though b/c reading through everything that car had everything I wanted, no issues, and ran great. Probably should have kept it. Well, I think that... then I take out the AMG (took it out today for a quick errand) and all is right again...

Yup I understand.. And for me since I was coming out of a 6MT C6 Grand Sport the natural thing would have been for me to get a 6MT Coupe.. But even though my wife never said a word I always felt bad that she couldn't drive it. So when I was looking for a coupe I asked her if I bought an auto would she occasionally drive it (with me because I know she would never drive it alone) and she said "yes, but do what you want". So I got the auto.

Well, that was 3 years and 2 months ago, and in that time guess how many times she has driven the V......NONE!!! BTW I ask her all the time if she wants to drive it....

Well, I wasn't implying anything...
just doubting my passing on it, that's all. Like, for a few grand more I'd have a well maintained silver with recaro instead of mine.
But again, for $5K I guess I could retro some seats and vinyl wrap it atomic teal too

I'm glad you're happy and got what you needed, man...
I wish I was in a position to make massive purchases like that without worry.

I know you weren't implying anything. I only said I understood what you were saying because like you, I was doubting or in my case "second guessing" my decision to pass on the 2015 Limited Edition BD Coupe my dealer had.. I guess I should have been clearer..

When I was looking Silver wasn't on my list but I couldn't pass it up when I came across it. That said I wonder if I would have fought harder to keep it if it was Blue or White. I guess we'll never know

PS - the key to large purchases is no kids

LOL...
it's funny though, aside from probably NBob...
everyone has their reservations and 'settled' to a certain degree.
Like, if I could I'd have this combo or that combo...

everyone can agree he got the best of the best though.
I saw some base seats where dude changed out the suede inserts for red ones...and it looked pretty damn cool and custom.

That he did!

Next time around... whenever and whatever that may be... I'll likely take a bit more time to get exactly what I want. Delaying the instant gratification will be worth it in the long run...

Well, I was given a strict budget...
going over that and both cars had to be sold and you know I love my S2000.

In addition, it was a shot in the dark as you don't know how well something will fit your needs, how it'll drive in all situations, how much fun it'll be...until you've signed on the dotted line and you're married to it. So now that I know what a blast the V is...I'd probably go back and stretch the budget. I think my next car will be manual, and more connected to the road...likely slower and better mpg...and probably FI.

Maybe I'll just wait until your wife is tired of the AMG and buy that...

I have what was determined to most likely be a GM Exec car based on the car fax but it has a clean title. I thought Exec cars had clean titles and only the cars used for track events had rebuilt titles.

Mine will probably end up with around 150k miles on it or so before I start looking again if not more.
