Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

If a full size truck isn't big enough for you then I'm not really sure what would be big enough. For us normal sized people, all of these cars have plenty of room.

fun fact, road head is actually supposed to be the passenger that's sucking.
had a few close calls because I refuse to let anyone drive my cars.
either way, more cabin room would make it a safer activity.

UPDATE TIME!!!

Rivian reached out as they are doing test drives in my area and offered to let me check a truck out in person. Scheduled to finally see and drive one in person on Aug 30th! Super excited!

Personally, I dont want the white interior on any car.

That said, that photo you posted, I believe, is deceiving. It looks like it was taken around sunrise and is giving off a much warmer glow. And it also depends how the camera reads the color temp and replicates based on what it perceives as being white. If you look at the photo in the shade of the rear seats, those look much more pure white.

People who have seen it in person have described the interior as gray, not white and the wood as yellow/pink and not bleached.

I love the white in my Tesla but colors are always in the eye of the beer holder.

they just posted new photos of the interior on their instagram and it’s looks bright white to me. But again hard to know til you see it in person.

I would have gone white but my wife said no stay black, and in the end I think it was the right choice.

fffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccc cccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Now Rivian did a 180 and said they'll now do the light seats with the dark wood trim from the black interior. Given I actually wanted the light seats and just hated the wood I might switch back now lol.

Had my first test drive/look around at the truck yesterday and holy shit is it awesome. The quality is phenomenal, makes Tesla look like a tonka toy, seats are super comfy, love having a gauge cluster lol. Anyway, some pros and cons along with some pics:

Pros:
1.) Holy fucking shit this thing is fast. I'm pretty sure it's faster than my 3P is or at least the butt dyno says it is. The feeling of launching a 7k lb truck this hard is hilarious fun even though I already have a fast EV.
2.) The quality, fit, and finish of everything is top notch. Everything looks and feels expensive and is put together extremely well. The truck I drove was a demo test mule from early production validation (had 20k miles on it already) and it was solid without any creaks or rattles. The interior (black) had held up well with little to no signs of wear even with being used as a demo truck.
3.) The air suspension is quiet and fast to respond. There's a YUGE range of height between slammed to the ground and rock crawl mode.
4.) The ride is super comfortable and quiet. Really a nice place to spend time. Sound system is fantastic too.
5.) The bed is 4.5ft when closed and 7.5ft when open. The tailgate swings out a LONG way (gooseneck hinge) when you open it so you can easily carry plywood or whatever back there. There are a bunch of tie down points too.
6.) Frunk is massive and actually usable. You can probably get a 2-3 carry-on bags in there no problem. Frunk in Tesla is a gimmick at best.
7.) There's actually tons of space inside. The Rivian rep was 6-3 and my friend who came along was 6-1 sitting behind him and both were just fine. The guy in the back didn't have a TON of legroom but it was definitely fine.
8.) See #1

Cons:
1.) The suspension in sport mode is really harsh and bouncy, it's not necessary to be that hard. The Rivian rep said it was to prevent the truck from squatting under acceleration but I feel like that's something the adaptive suspension should be able to handle temporarily rather than being shit ride quality the whole time. This isn't an issue in any other mode.
2.) The truck is really slow when in "conserve" mode. It's effectively FWD and disables the rear motors.
3.) Gear tunnel is cool but I'm not sure how much I'd use it other than as a step to get into the bed.
4.) There are no other steps to get into the bed, gear tunnel doors or you have to scramble in from the tailgate.
5.) The power tonneau cover is pretty sketch. I hope they fix this before my truck arrives.
6.) We raised and lowered the truck so much that the air compressor overheated and needed a couple mins to cool down, worked fine after.
7.) The BIGGEST con I came across is...that mine isn't ready yet. Can't fucking wait.

It jammed a few times when we were playing with it. The cover is a hard cover so it's a bunch of panels that stack up when retracted and extend out like flooring when closed. The act of moving all those panels seems tough. The reps had to fix the jam a couple times, they mentioned it was common on the early build trucks and has since been resolved. We'll see how true that is.

They also have a manual tonneau cover but that's essentially a bunch of panels you have to put on and take off (and store somewhere when off) so that sounds like an even bigger PITA.

The SUV's look boss, love them too. Trying to convince the wife to pre-order a dual motor R1S since she doesn't give a shit about performance. So far no joy on that, she wants something cheaper and plug in hybrid, not full EV. Something about being able to go see her parents.

Either that or X5 40e or whatever it's called, XC90, or something along those lines. Unfortunately the Jeep doesn't come in PHEV and 3 row for some dumb reason. That would be the winner if it did.

The good part is that most of these should be eligible for the $7500 credit too.

Yeah, not sure why they only did the 4xe in the SWB WL. Maybe a payload capacity constraint with the extra length/weight of the LWB?

I am astonished at how well the white seats in my car hide dirt. I finally cleaned out the inside of my car and gave the seats a good scrub down with APC, brush, wipe, repeat and the amount of shit that came off was pretty astonishing but what was more crazy was how it didn't even look that dirty in the first place. The bottom in the pic below is not cleaned, the middle, is clean. The seats have NEVER been cleaned since I bought it last June and the car now has ~12k on it. No special precautions were taken with the seats. I wear jeans, dog is in and out (with seat cover though), kid is dirty as always.

Guess it's time to get the Tesla prepped for sale...
