Good catch on the perch!

That's gotta be good for at least another inch of setting in the rear.

Also, quick tip to make the install much easier - drop the lca. you have to get an alignment anyway, so pulling the eccentric at the subframe is the easier bolt to remove. Disconnect the sway, and then the LCA will swivel down. That gives you a clear path to slide the strut assembly into the chassis mounts. To reinstall, attach the LCA to the strut first, then use a floor jack to raise the LCA into position on the subframe.

That is how I did it eventually. Could not get the damn thing out until I did that.

Thanks again, guess my day off is over.

Yup, it was about 10 minutes less than the time between posts. I cleaned & put away the tools & washed my hands/drank water etc. Funny how knowing what one is doing makes things easier.

Whenever I do something for the first time...I'm like...yep, that side took 2 hours...other side should be 20 minutes now.
First time pulling the supercharger on my S4 was 2 hours...labeling everything and taking my time. Last time around
it took me 8 minutes.

The closest e85 station is about 8 miles away, there's a circleK with 2.09.9 54% and across the freeway a Mobile with 2.869 e83. Depending on where I'm at I go to the appropriate station. The other day I was forced to fill 1/2 tank I was at about 60% with premium (in Prescott, no e) so I was at 24%. I went and since Zach said 40-50% is ok I gambled on the 54 and that brought it to 39%. I drove it down to 1/4 and went back, now it's at 44%.

These numbers don't make sense unless they are not giving the % they claim.

But I digress.....so, I leave the station and am behind a Stinger with what looks like it's hatch privacy panel on it's roof. Under normal circumstances, I'm not big on going to people's windows in traffic and these ain't normal times. I honked & flashed my brights but no response and so I just watched it fly off on the freeway onramp.

Good times....

I'd love to lay the blame elsewhere but It's on me. OTOH if the car ever flips it will be right side up.

lol

That kind of thing drives my ADHD crazy. (short trip)

I'll most likely turn it around when I do the exhaust because the bolt on that side is harder to get at with the exhaust there,

The OEM lugs were ugly & chrome so I ordered new ones.

This morning I went to r&r them & broke a stud trying to get the OEM lug off.

Just got back from the dealer, got the stud, some videos take the entire hub off, others not. Hope I don't have to.

Seems to be settling.

Broke 2 studs on the front hub of the TL years ago.
Managed to drive the old ones out with a punch. Had to grind down the head on the replacements a bit to clear the flared bit of the hub.

Looks like a rear wheel, from the smaller brake caliper. Hope it's an easy R&R for you.

You can hammer the stud out without removing the hub. I swapped in longer studs on mine when I needed to run a spacer in the rear and it wasn't very time consuming. Just use a sledge and it should pop out easily. The new stud can go in as well, just play with the angles. You will need to remove the brake disc though.

Yup, found a thread on 86Club. Got the old one out without taking anything but the wheel off, it fell out when I removed the disk. Got the new one in easily.

God, you are a stud!
What an easy job on that car...
I recall a lot of dust shield cutting and grinding and putting an angle on the stud on the TL
and S2000.

When it broke I envisioned a hairy monster PITA r&r.
I found several videos where they removed the hub.
It was shockingly easy.

Not just any hammer! a BFH!

I got this hammer for the Tundra ball joints (Firestone wanted to replace them when they did an alignment, I opted out, bought the ball joints and this hammer.)

The ball joints turned out to be fine.

8 fucking pounds!?!?
I don't think I'm strong enough to swing that!

I hate Firestone and Tires Plus for that upsell bullshit.

I just use Firestone for mounting & alignment.

It was really hard to find 8lbs with a short handle. They were all long log splitters.

It does a great job for things like knocking the stud out.
