The fuel system on the 86 can support full e85 without issue. If you end up going FI, only then will you need a new low pressure pump and injectors.

E85 is the truth. Car ran good enough for me on the street with a header and E85 tune. Bonus, E85 made my crickets go away.
Dunno how cold it gets where you're at but the colder weather will make morning startups a pain. Mixing in more 91 like you did will help.
Stock tune is dookie, but I'm sure the later models are a lot better than the early models.
Kinda embarrassing, but are there differentiating terms between the early and late models? Kouki/zenki?

It was 68 this morning at 4am when I went to work. car felt great, felt great all the way home at 78.
I plan on putting more e85 in tomorrow, it's at 28% now. No cold start issues so far but it's not what I consider cold.

I went with a full Stoptech kit, so I'm unsure on the WRX setup.
BTW the WRX is 5x100 IIRC. I think it was only STI that was fucky throughout the years.

Do the WRX brakes require larger rotors? Or is it just a caliper swap?

True, I wasn't sure what most people were doing. I seem to recall most going with the WRX setup not for actual braking performance, but for appearances. However, IMO the stock brakes are plenty. I got the Stoptechs for a screaming deal, which is why I got them. Do you plan on tracking the car hard? If not, you're probably better served just upgrading the lines, pads and running good fluid.

The car has oversized rotors IIRC. Don't remember exactly... but the front rotors are the same as as Legacy, rears are from a WRX. Or the other way around?
Stock pads and fluids on this car are trash and are the first things to give out. Those were the first things I upgraded.
Tracked with stock rotors and calipers otherwise and without issues, but I'm not a time attack god.

I paid $1100 shipped for the same setup, but with silver calipers that were practically brand new.
