Damn Tim, the new changes look great! The front end looks complete with the lower grills black and the lip spoiler adds some flare without being overdone

Now clean dem wheels

Yeah, I washed the car yesterday. BMW brake pads leave LOTS of dust though; it doesn't take long for them to get dirty again.

Nice work.

Good thing you got the 3 convertible before it undergoes its fuglification w/ the F30 bodystyle.

i like those changes!

Question, did you just spray paint the grill?? Did you do something to cover the other side so the paint just doesnt go through haha

I actually used one of those small sponge-type craft brushes for the main parts of the grilles, and then used a smaller detail brush for the edges. What you see there is totally by hand. Can't use spray paint without taking off the grilles; there's an intercooler back there.

ohh damn haha

yea i was gonna ask if you did it by hand but then id figure that would take so long lol so you wouldnt. I was thinking you might have put some paper on the other side covering the intercooler and whatever else is there but i didnt see it in the pic

Nope. I'd have to remove the bumper to get back there. Wasn't happening. Actually only took me a couple of hours. It wasn't too bad. Just sprayed some Rustoleum for plastic into a small, disposable, plastic bowl and dipped the brush in there.

Okay, a question for the collective brain trust...as it were - I still have my Macht Schnell 10MM spacers from my M5 and I've confirmed they'll fit on my 335. If you look at the picture below, you can see this car REALLY needs the wheels pushed out a bit (especially the rear). However, I would normally wait until I lowered the car a bit to install spacers. Unfortunately, given my current situation, and the fact that (with parts an labor) lowering this car will set me back around $800 that won't be happening very soon. So, the question is, will it look lame (especially the front wheels), if I install the spacers now? Should I wait until I lower the car, or will it be an improvement either way?

Put them on. It will look aggressive.

Also....if you don't like the look, you can just take them off. Car looks great all the way around TT.

I'd say do it. They do look pushed in a bit too much and having them sit closer to flush with the fender/quarter panel would look much better

I'm leaning towards it...here's a shot from the front. My only concern is the front wheels looking goofy with the car not being lowered. Now, the car is sitting on a bit of decline, so the front gap may be a little exaggerated, but any additional input?

Well, you could always buy wider wheels , but I have the feeling the spacers option is more in-line with the budget .

Go ahead, especially if you already have them. It's better to have them sitting on the car than sitting on a shelf in the garage.

do it. BMWs usually don't have too much wheel gap so I don't think it will look goofy at all. DO IT, DO IT

Haha I think everybody just wants you to keep modding for our own benefit. The back clearly needs spacers though, why not put them just in the back and then do the fronts when you lower? Front looks alright to me as of now

Don't know front and rear track numbers for your car, but I think the back looks a teensy bit more "sunk" than the front does anyways. Slap dem bishes on!

Labor Day turned into "Labor On My Car Day" - Wash, Vacuum, Clay, Scratch-X, Polish, Wax, Polish Headlights and Fog lights (oh, and tire shine...Morgan). Took some pictures to remember the car when it was this clean:

Have you considered sealing the wheels? Might help with the dust.

Looks great. Love seeing convertible tops in action.

I would recommend Poorboy's Wheel Sealant, a lot of good reviews and it's worked well for me.

Complain to me when you're dealing with the 100* heat AND 95% humidity.

Theyre painted wheels. Use sealant and wax that you'd use on the car.

clean car my first temp at doing all that stuff took me 12 hrs mostly because i couldnt get the polish right and clay bar on a car for the first time thats 12 years old haha took forever!

Question. Do spacers add anything but looks? Does it have any negative effects at all?
