People wanted GS to make one. GS said "ok".

What's at the bottom of the cliff? Do I have a parachute? Bungie cord? Jet pack?

There's lots of variables here. I need details.

I trust Grimmspeed 100%.

Their tow plate holder gave me 3 whp. I can feel the improved acceleration. Uh huh.

And they sent me 2 holders for a price of 1. So yeah, they have my business.

I have no ill-regards for GS. They sent me a plate holder for free when I got my car because they needed someone to test it and get measurements. I obliged.

I also have their oil cap, which when they did the group buy, they sold it for a loss. That's why they sell for ~$85 now. I paid $52.

Aaaaand I also have their hood struts, which are awesome. Those guys are great, and I love the research they put into their products.

Yeah, I like how transparent they are in the researching process. Updating the forum members with their process with clear explanation that actually make a lot of sense.

Exactly. It's sad, but most communities don't have that luxury. Thankfully, the twins have Nameless and Grimmspeed.

It's because of that transparency and reputation that I decided to get the GS intake. I currently have a sound-tube delete and a K&N filter, but there just isn't the induction sound I was looking for. I hate that sound tube btw.

Also, a guy with the same intake mods I have got the GS intake and said he can feel a noticeable difference. There's also the hope that the OFT guys are going to release a tune for the GS intake as well.

EDIT: I FOUND A THREAD OMG OMG. SHIV IS RELEASING THE TUNE AFTER SEMA

I just reread the post on FT86C. It looks like the dyno graph shows untuned w/ GS intake vs tuned w/ GS intake.

Kind of pointless without a tuned w/ stock intake run, but also impressive that they were able to find 6whp & 7wtq with a tune

What I really want to see is the following dyno comparison:

-same car
-three runs completely stock, no tune
-three runs completely stock, except GS intake
-three runs completely stock, except GS intake and tune
-all done in the same night

I guess I am the only one that loves the sound tube.
Tried it for a day, became so quiet and took it off.
If I could hear that suction noise like I had with my CAI on TL, I would cap it but...

Looks like I will go with GS intake but, when it comes to tune..... I have no idea.
Which makes me stay with stock tune. Fug it

Whoever posted that update on ft86club, might be related to me, right Jeremy?
I understood nothing when comparing the written post and the dyno chart together.

Ok stock intake is good but I don't care, intake never became a HP or TQ thing for me.
It just opens up the car, makes it quicker and etc, that's the only feeling I want.
Suck it muthafukaaaa

So yeah cone is the only way, had enough with stock intake.
But on the other hand, what Morgan and many people experinced with CAI on this car makes me slow down when buying an intake.

We trust you GS without a tune

You have to remember that Js butt dyno has taken a beating over the years, so he doesn't feel the small things anymore.

Here's the story with my rear end.

Morgan took my motor and tried to blow it. Instead, he blew it. Put an extra hole right in it, guessing he thought my bottom end was forged. Tight, yes...bulletproof, no. Anyhow...at the end of the day, I ended up having to limp home from the beating he put on me once he strapped me into his dyno.

So there...yes, it's been destroyed, but Morgan had a heavy hand in it too.

Got mine today big thanks for helping fix my own dumb mistake on the address, installed. Car feels smooth maybe better power toward the later half of the curve. Probably better with MAF scaling. Finally with my Tomei UEL and Perrin catback I can barely hear the intake to the point I might be making it up in my head lol
No I definitely know what you mean. I'm running OFH and full exhaust. I can hear the intake but it doesn't "scream". My first vehicle was a 99 Integra GSR. When you put an intake on any B-K-any Honda series motor for that matter, the intake is usually the loudest part on the car. (Considering you don't go crazy with the exhaust) You can really hear it from around 5500 and on but it doesn't sound "Honda-ish", which is a plus in my book.

Hoping for a tune here for those running the Stage 2 map already. You can tell the intake is on there. The power band feels smoother but you know there is more on the table to be had. The one thing I have always loved and I don't know if anyone else can agree with me here. That feeling when you have your foot on the gas and it feels taught, like there is more there and the car is begging you to just push it even further. Hard to put into words but that is what I have noticed.
Wish it was louder but let's see what Costco will say

I won't have a chance to put the intake on until Sunday probably. What you quoted makes sense. I loved having an intake on my Integra... you could really hear the air getting sucked in when blipping the throttle. But the way the intake is designed on this car, I could see the sound increase being minimal.

The header is easily the biggest change in volume as far as I/H/E goes. I almost didn't get one after driving a buddy's car with an uncatted header. Wouldn't be surprised if it the header drowns it out.

I also notice that minor problem with the DBW. Intake on my Integra did make it feel more 'taut' and responsive. I'll let you guys know once I get the intake on. Won't reflash the OFT until Shiv releases the tune for it though.

That dyno thread was updated, the 6whp/7wtq gain was GS intake/no tune vs GS intake/tune. No stock baseline.

The gains look nice on the surface, but its pointless without seeing what the car put down stock. For all we know, it made 174whp stock

I'm not trying to shit on it, but I have serious doubts about intakes on this car.

Yeah, might sound good with a stock intake but still, that video didn't give me a smile.

You and Airaid
I am totally relying on Costco's comments after this point.

Aaaand what I did yesterday
With some tips from J.

Will polish it after 3 days, or maybe clear coat too, not sure.

I've never seen anyone do this yet, they usually leave the whole signal area clear, which kind of looks stock still from the rear end...
I went and left those stripes in front of the signal clear.
