The beauty of these cars is best described by the adage, "it's funner to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow" I had buddies with 350-500+ awhp STIs and Evos and the fun got old for them quick because they never tracked their cars and they hated driving their cars on the street. You can't use all that power legally.

Openflash Tablet is the best bang for your buck mod for driveability. It's not all about power, but the tune optimizes the powerband. If you're planning to stay N/A, I highly recommend it. Very easy to use.
Now you telling me about your thread I had no idea

Well, I think they love JDL header, 13lbs and $950
and also
Rev Works header, 12lbs and $700
Both Unequal and no cat

Would no cat smell? Haven't searched yet... if it does, FT86 Catted header for $950 it is but, which makes me go for JDL if I will be paying 1k for a header.

Corsa sounds good. It was Tomei with single exit right? Forgot.
No idea about the new header from Tomei...

You have Camaro too? Which one?

I totally agree, friend with STI and EVO? Never used them during winter Just summer time. I can't do that.
Exactly like what you said in your thread. Looking for a reason to get out and drive the BRZ....

Openflash Tablet is that device you plug in and does the work? It really works? I mean what does it do without a dyno. It might affect the MPG too.. no?

No cats will smell. You can get a front pipe with a high flow cat - it will help with the smell. I want at least one cat to reduce rasp. I'm running E85 anyway, so no catless smell. If you get an OpenFlash Tablet, you get a discount on the Openflash header - ends up being like $530.

Most factory tunes run rich, the 86 is no exception. You should get better gas mileage if you drive the same on the stage 1 tune. OFT is very simple, the tablet guides you step-by-step. It has been dyno tuned depending on mods you have (EL header, UEL header, E85 vs. 91/93, etc) and is designed to run with a margin of safety. There are probably hundreds on the OFT, stock, with bolt-ons, etc. I've yet to see an N/A engine with an off-the-shelf OFT tune blow up because of the tune.

We used our friends STI and Evo to go snowboarding even with E85. Wasn't an issue.

Had an 2002 Camaro, last of the F-Body. It actually handled decently with suspension mods, it's just a big ass car and a different driving style.

If that's the case, we'll have to bury him in his car and he'll still only be at 30mph.

True. Just a testament to Honda. The F20C pumped out 240 horsepower N/A back in 1999.

People point out that non-US market Toyotas had the BEAMS 3S-GE putting out ~200 horsepower a few years earlier. Questionable if it would pass emissions standards today though.

E85 tune (bone stock) really wakes the car up. Before, driving up a hill with a passenger and the A/C on... the car was a dog. I've posted the dyno chart before.

Almost 30... 5 more years :P
Who said I work at Lexus?
Civil Engineering at Lexus?

Ross, I miss you

This car is fast because makes you use the power pretty well on highway/highspeeds
Is the car quick? No
Both are different

I don't know about E85 tune too
Do you have to use that gas for it?
And I don't understand why we have 93 as the best gas here
In Istanbul 93 is the lowest, 97 is the heighest.
OFT and Header for $530 Sounds like a must

And Anil is right, well, Tyler is..

FX gone
2014 GS350 AWD
Luxury Package and Cold Weather Package with Additional Options which is friggen $10k
and
Third package out of six. The one that says $5,923
Different car... way different than Benz. No comments about it yet
No high res shots too

Let me settle this once and for all. The Toyobaru is fast, alright? Just... not in a straight line!

I the GS but yeah, not sure why you have three black cars. Unless you're a masochist. The flaxen on black is really nice. Can't wait to see it detailed and pics of the same caliber as your BRZ's!

I don't know what standard Istanbul uses but if it's 93 RON, then that's equivalent to 93 octane AKI (US) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_...mber_.28RON.29

and yes, you have to use E85 for the E85 tune. But the non-E85 stage 2 tune is still really good. E85 tune alone nearly eliminates the torque dip though.

E85 is cheaper. But you'll be getting 2/3 to 4/5 of your current MPG. At 12k mi/year, I'll end up spending about $120 more for E85, and I think it's well worth it. My car stays in a garage, so no cold start issues. Never gets lower than 40F here anyway http://toflexornottoflex.com/

I would do a lot of reading if you have E85 in your area. I had the stage 1 91 octane map for four days, then I ran my tank dry just to try E85 I have no intention of going back.

If I had to quantify it, as far as "feel" goes, the way the car ran was like this...

Stock tune = 60%
Stage 1, 91 octane = 70%
"Stage 1" E85 = 85%

E85 has many pros and cons. I could distill them down if you want, but its best if you learn on your own. Check out the software tuning section on ft86club. Enough thread hijacking

Will take more time to caliber the shots. I thought Audi had nice details... this Lexus interior is like handmade to me haha

Mom wanted white Q5 but backed up since FX was white.
I wanted navy GS but dad wanted black and didn't want to wait. No navy was in stock

I see. Wiki link shows 95RON and 98RON is what Turkey uses. Which 98RON is same as 93AKI in USA.

Sounds like no E85 tune for me then, because there is only one place that has E85, and it's pretty far away from me, plus it's like a truck shop, not a gas station.

Is Stage 1 that OFT thing? And why 91? I am using 93Vpower

Say hi to Saritha, BMW is a sports car, she should get the GS
What BMW you bish? Why you no tell me, what did you look at? 8 seat X5?

My dad will be taking the GS to Lexus, every week free hand wash.
Q5? I don't know hahaha because I hate washing bigger cars after BRZ now.
BRZ takes a second

Well, dad had enough with a Silver RL and White FX. Guess he missed his manyl looking black E320 and got black
Q5? Black looks better than white because everyone here has white one
I wanted the blue Q5 actually but only offered in 3.0T

May be I might drive a Jag F Type next year for the National Meet

she says hi back....

yeah looked at the 2015 MDX (), 2014 Q7....she says the 5 seater are not big enough...I agree since the current car is decently big and has a good trunk space...so its either a 7 seater or am swaying her towards a wagon

we might go check out the X5 and the Macan S (maybe the Evoque as well) over the weekend....

if we decide towards a wagon, no points to guess which one we gonna go with

either way, since this year we finishing up the basement, it will all go down next year or when we plan for the 2nd one...with the basement, I just spread it over couple days....like last night, I ran some speaker wire and later today I will be nailing the supports for the wire in and finishing up...then tomorrow will be cleaning everything up and getting ready for insulation and sheetrock....

btw free hand wash is awesome...but make sure they do it well else the dealers have a knack of bring swirls into the paint....and yes the BRZ is tiny....i would love to wash and wax it, it has got to be sooo quick....hence our SUV purchase is not going to be a dark color, it will be like silver or light grey or white...haha

Yeah, stage 1 is for stock cars. I said 91 cause 91 is the highest octane, most readily available gas in CA. But the tune is adapted for 91/93. ECU will compensate according to fuel trims.

Not sure about the header though, but eventually I want the rumble. I should just go with the combo deal than...

Lease an IS250 F-Sport for her.
$250/month. Somewhere there.

Buy an used Honda Odyssey for $20k at most
Don't invest on a big SUV because u need a space. Trust me, that 3rd row in SUVs is nothing compared to the reason you want a big car for.
Van is what you should have. Of course never get the 2 seat in middle-row models. Get 3 seats ones.
Great trunk space, interior is big as hell, easy to get in and out, and sliding doors are so much easier for wife.

Dad's friend with the new white Navigator, you prob remember.
Bought brand new Touring Odyssey (black too )
Perfect car until kids grow up.

And you guys don't get crazy snow there.
IS250 AWD will be enough

Not saying buy a brand new van because no need to invest big on it. It's a car just for a purpose. So buy cheap used ones.

it is the perfect car but she doesnt and wont drive the minivan she got class bruhh hahaha....

I cant agree more, the minivan is perfect...kids buckle themselves in, you hit the button and close the doors....got a ton of room....and yes max budget I have set for the minivan is 20K....am guessing we will be buying a 4-5 year old 70-80K miles on the odo Odyssey....but they have the same Jseries engine in them so modding and maintenance should be a piece of cake....

fuq it, lets buy an escalade

Wife will take the Sid, mom and dad with IS250

Going somewhere during weekend. Use the van. Probably you will drive anyhow.

Exactly my point...but in your Q5 by the time you put a stroller, all the room is taken...no room for anything...hence a 7 seater with 3rd row folded down for trunk space...

But since this is gonna be a car/SUV for her, am not gonna interrupt and gonna treat her to whatever she likes
