Overall it sucks because I do like the car, I like driving it, and I like the way it looks. Unfortunately...the issues, the dealers, and Infiniti Consumer Affairs have made this experience a crappy one so far.

Still didn't work putting the fob back together and sticking it into the slot under the VDC and trunk buttons?

Not sure how the Nissan systems work, but I've read that the Mazda keyless/push button, you just have to physically put the fob to the start button & press, if the battery is dead or the fob is damaged.

That's how some of the newer models are (Q50, Q70, QX60, QX80). On the G37, they put a slot in the dash to the left of the steering wheel to detect a key with a dead battery.

No it was smashed. But oh well, I have a car that's paid off, I'll live with it. Could be worse....

I've had my 6MT G37S since May 2008 with 53 miles on the odo.

I only have dashboard rattles when it's COLD (ie temps around 10F or lower). Lots of transmission clatter when the clutch isn't depressed. How much the stick vibrates at any RPM (in gear or in neutral) is almost a joke for a 'luxury car' ...

The car pulls all the way to redline ... I just can't justify how thirsty this car and how quickly the rear tires need to be changed (Michelin SuperSport destroys the OEM Bridgestones 050A in every way) is so I rarely mash the peddle to the floor anymore ... but good tires significantly reduce road noise.

I found my brakes got really SOFT at the end of their life ... but $1000 to change the pads and rotors every 40000 miles really sucks ... then again, I prefer to have more 'bite' to brakes than a 'family car' ...

Footwell gets warm after a long drive? Maybe living in Canada has its advantages ...

No place to put your cell phone? Keep it in your pocket ...that's what Bluetooth is for. (just sayin')

The trunk is tiny ... that's why there's a pic on how to put in 2 sets of golf clubs.

Even with all these shortcomings ... I still love my "G" ...

Just an FYI.....
If I wasn't broke & it wasn't paid for I'd dump it.
It rattles, won't go anywhere till I mash the gas to a high rpm, I don't know how they claim it has the power numbers it does. It's a bit hard of a ride, it sucks in traffic as the brakes are really touchy, the drivers foot well gets REALLY hot on a long drive, the 7 speed trans is a joke, upshifts to soon, downshifts to late, & 7 speeds? have to downshift 3 gears to pass someone at 80. The interior is cramped, I have no spot to put my darn cell phone, the trunk is so small I can barley get 1 medium suitcase in it, & the wind & road noise are HORRIBLE!
Last time I get a small car like this.

end of rant.....

I think what he is experiencing is normal.

He is just too used to the power. I even think my 435 is slow now.

Now go drive a rental for a week and go back to your G37, you will immediately notice how much better it is.

The only problem i have with G/Q right now that i did not have back in 08 is... they need to change their outdated engine ASAP, which we all know it is coming =)
