Nice car. I had my daughters' '11 G37x coupe over the weekend. Very nice car that runs really well.

Love those G37 coupes. Still carrying on as the Q60, so that design won't look dated for a while. Just if you didn't figure it out already, you can leave it in DS if regular drive is too boring. Holds gears longer, and also downshifts under hard braking for slowing down or so you're in a better gear to pass the guy who cuts into your lane lol. IMO, those are the best wheels for that car. The ones on the '11+ sport models are a little busy for my taste.

Let me get it zaion'ed this weekend & I'll get the pics up.
Mods looks like only the sways & some cosmetic stuff. Seems the intake will decrease the TQ a bit. Since the car isn't very good low end I'm going to keep the factory intake.
At least for now. I do have some warranty on it still.
I like the exhaust tone I think I'll keep that for now as well.

After having the SRT8, pretty much anything I mod is never going to feel that fast or powerful. Unless I go FI.

after driving luxury vehicles, both feel cheap. its better than it use to be. great fun cars for the weekend maybe. if I was 18 again Id drive them daily. im double that age now. I kinda like finer things in life as I get older. not bashing the either just saying for a lot of use we tend to grow out of the boy racer cars.

Thought I might want a G37 in a few years, but 20 mpg is a turn off.

Not sure what would turn anybody off about a well built, luxurious, dependable, sub 14 second car that gets 20 mpg. IMO its called having your cake and eating it too. I remember when decent performance oriented cars got 8-12 mpg. I still own a few of those.

I approve. I had that exact same car, color, trim, everything! Leased it new in March 2010 and turned it in last June with 45k miles on the clock. Was a fantastic car and I loved every minute of owning it, as will you! Great, great car OP...

This is good advice. I had my battery go dead on me just a little over a year after I bought it...

Is it that common? The battery on my I30 is Infiniti-branded and from the service records I have it was installed in 2008, and I've had the car since 2011. Although when I'm at work, some cars at the storage lot have dead batteries. Although I'm not sure how long they had been sitting there.

Congrats on the G.

I love mine, not too thrilled on the upshifts with this transmission, but its been a reliable car with 4+ years of ownership.

I still smile every time I drive it.

I've had the itch a few times to trade her, but something keeps bringing me back.

I agree with a lot of what the guys are saying in this thread although I guess I'm in the minority in terms of transmission preferences. I wish I would have waited for a 6MT instead of jumping on this one. Yes the 7AT is slightly quicker and such, but I miss driving stick. Aside from the auto transmission and tan interior, it's been one hell of a car.

Elegant yet still quick enough to keep me entertained. Can't wait to see what it'll do with some bolt-ons and an Osiris tune.

Nice pick up Fuzzy.

Not much. Sways & a few cosmetic things. I kind of like a smooth quiet car for once.

This is how it always starts....

I can appreciate a quiet car though, my last car (CLS6) was a superior daily driver - an ideal garage for me would be owning both.

That's exactly what I was thinking too, Tyler. Come on fuzzy, you know you'll want more powa. Let the modding commence!

It's just not worth it on this car...in order to gain anything major I'd have to go boost.
And that is just out of my price range. I got the strut bar, sways, vinyl for the tails & subwoofer going in this weekend.

i don't know how common it is for the I30 but every G37C i know had dead battery within the first 20k miles, including mine.

mine died at 11k miles.

I'm with you 1000% fuzzy. Just enjoy it for what it is, which is plenty. Save your coin for the next one.

Some stuff....
Added a black grill & plastic dipped the emblem...not sure on this one yet
Added my 10" kicker sub & amp. Got a enclosure made for the car.
Added a front stut bar
Added Eibach sway bars(adjustable)
And I used a Hypertech programmer for a very mild canned tune. Actually if the car was modded it would be a waste, but since it's stock it actually adds to drivabilty. Takes off this throttle restriction the car had as well as changed the air/fuel maps.
The car did wake up a bit. It was noticeable. I got it used cheap.
I might tint the tails & I want that chrome rear tail piece with the backup camera painted body color. Got a quote for that.
I lightened it a little, took out the spare & jack/tools, When I installed the sways there was all this useless trim & brackets under the car & 2 useless tow hooks that were bolted to the unibody. Don't need any of that.

It's rare for a car to have ALL of the following:

1) Great looking stock wheels.
2) A good amount of wheel gap.
3) Good looking exhaust tips AND a good stock exhaust note.
4) Firm and sporty, but not rough suspension.

I think the G37 is setup really well from the factory.

Favorite thing about driving Q60s at the dealerships is the sound. The cars have been getting quieter, like my manager said people were complaining that the 2G FX is too quiet. Q50 is fairly quiet, but a customer said he's getting the Stillen exhaust for it and I can't wait for him to stop in so I can hear it.

Another cosmetic, painted the stock chrome spoiler to match the car. Looks way better now I think.

Ok so I lied...
I found a deal I couldn't pass up on a Infiniti muffler upgrade. Looks stock except for the bigger tips. It's basically the same sound just a little louder. Totally quiet until the tach goes past 4K rpm. No other noises. Dead silence at cruising. Pretty much what I wanted. I'll post a pic but it's not much to see as I said it looks stock.
