Your jeep looks awesome!

I'm getting my WK2 Limited delivered tomorrow or Monday. I want to go to RC also, do you think I can handle the green trails stock with 20" wheels, but with skid plates installed?

Nice! Yeah you'll be fine on Greens at RC, probably good with blues if you have skids. You'll probably get some nice rash on those 20" wheels. We're actually going up on the 29th if you're interested in joining. Probably going to go again in April.

There's a huge Jeep meet there on April 12th, so I'm going then. I'll see if I can make the 29th, if so, I'll let you know

Very nice. Every time I look in your thread I think how much fun it would be to have a weekend toy like this.

Not my rig, but spent the last two days installing a RIPP supercharger on my buddy's 3.6

Advertised to be 325WH and 300ft/lbs of torque on 37s.

I need some updates on this, your thread made me want a Jeep but the timing wasn't right at the time.

Went to the Jeep dealer to check out what they had and the 'sales' guy had no clue on anything. He said the Sport and Sahara were different only in the color of the bumpers...

I'm currently really wanting a toy and was looking at another sport bike but the wife is shooting me down so a Wrangler sounds awesome. I was thinking about the Willys W but after looking at them, I think I would be happy with the Sport S and then getting some 35s and a lift. Wife hasn't worked since last year and just started again so I want her to get settled and then thinking maybe January for purchase. I could deal with the Sport but I know the wife would want AC.

Drove this Sport today (below) with dealer tubes, lift, and 35's but those options were $8k. I don't know much about off road and such but $8k seems steep. Fun none the less. I would get the soft top since it would be a beach/off road vehicle but any reason to get anything other than a Sport S? I like the bluish gray color which I can't get in the sport but...

$8k for that stuff is insanity. The short version is if you are going to seriously mod the Jeep then buy the Sport and make it your own like OP did. If you aren't going to do much beyond some bumpers and lights, get the Rubicon since it's fairly heavily modded out of the box. The Sahara is a nice compromise and there are lots of differences beyond the color of the fenders...

After months of back and forth, I finally decided to sell the Jeep and get something more practical for the family. My wife is going from her Q5 company vehicle and switching to a S4 and that was our primary family hauler. I wanted a SUV that I could still mod/wheel, but fit my other family needs.

Thankfully I found someone that bought my Jeep at full asking price. This is what she looked like after I stripped some of her parts off before going on sale.

Attachment 100099
Attachment 100100

Enjoyed building and wheeling it for the last five years (seems to be my new car cycle rate). Sad to see her go, definitely won't be as fun at OBX or during nice weather days with the doors/top off. But decided to get a 4Runner Off Road Premium. I was trying to find a TRD Pro in Cement, but I was too late. There are only two left in the states, where the one in CA was being marked up 15k and the other in CO would've cost me 51k OTD to get shipped here. Decided to go with the ORP and get the moonroof and KDSS, which the TRD Pro does not have and still be able to build it cheaper than a TRD Pro.

So the TSX needed more lift...-xrykrsh.jpg
So the TSX needed more lift...-7q2vgts.jpg
So the TSX needed more lift...-fcwpao4.jpg
So the TSX needed more lift...-id7mglv.jpg

I'm going to build a poser TRD Pro, tires and wheels came today, along with the TRD skid that will need to be modified to work with KDSS. TRD Pro grille is coming this weekend along with the front and rear TRD Pro bumper valencies. Probably going with Bilstein 6112s and 5160s with T13 rear springs to lift it. Holding off on a SSO bumper and sliders until Black Friday.

So far, I'm really impressed with the fit and finish, lots of storage and space. Drives really quiet and averaged 23MPG on the way home. Definitely better than the 14.7MPG that I was getting with my Jeep on 37s. Really can't compare the two, but excited to have a new toy and modding something again.

Congratulations! Your Jeep was a beauty. Correct if I'm wrong, but your asking price was 30k for the Jeep right? Its crazy to me that you were able to still get that much for it after driving/owning it for five years.

Did you get the 4Runner from Priority in Springfield? Thats were I just got my Taco from.

Kudos to you for having the balls to off-road such expensive brand new vehicles. I took my cousin's Wrangler off roading in Harrisonburg once and it was a absolute blast. My Taco will remain a mall crawler for the time being though haha.

Thanks! Yes, asking was 30k, sadly I put a lot more money in mods, but wasn't expecting to see any of that back. It's crazy how people think their used modified JK/JKUs can command 40-50k.

Yes got it from Priority, they weren't the cheapest, but the free oil changes/inspections for life was a big seller. Did you go to Flagpole? Any plans for mods for your Taco?

Here's my buddy's:

He was able to find someone to do a sport hood swap on his OR. Pretty sweet build, making his own poser TRD Pro. He had a JKU as well and sold it a couple months ago for the Taco. We were looking at Tacos together and he pulled the trigger first and I flaked and got the 4runner

I was going to wait for a JL, but with the delays in production and the potential increase in MSRP, I decided to take advantage off a year end close out on the 4runner. Plus, I would be tempted to over build the JL and end up in the same situation with my JK :P

Looks awesome man! A friend of mine just picked up a TRD Pro Tundra and another picked up a TRD Pro 4Runner all within the last couple of months. I'll have to find pictures of them and post them. We're all in the Chantilly area actually. I'm a little further down in South Riding.

I don't recall the exact name of the trail, but remember it being up a large mountain. We met up with a group of other Wranglers. I assume she heard about the meet up via the forums. I'll throw some pictures up if I can find some. It was back in 2014.

I just installed OEM splash guards and picked up the bed mat to keep everything from moving around back there while I'm driving. I got a TRD pro grille too, but I gotta find some time to throw it on. Don't have all that much planned as of right now, but you know how that usually goes...

Love the T4R. It is a much nicer on-road than the JK is. Don't feel too bad about not getting the Pro. There was a cement Taco on the lot of the dealer near me, and it was marked up $3k... it was gone within a week.

Yea definitely, loving my decision so far. Cement Taco TRD Pros are going for more than the T4R. Funny because cement will be a regular color come MY2018.

One of the first 2018 T4R TRD Pros in cavalry blue in Utah went for 3k over MSRP and the dealership was only selling to Utah residents. I reached out to a couple dealers in PA and NJ when they had cements they were charging out of state fees. It's insane the prices for these Pros, I've seen multiple used Cement T4R TRD Pros going for 51k used...

Here's how my rig sits currently:

Name: cKUwmgs.jpg
Views: 17
Size: 91.2 KB
Name: J8uqH5F.jpg
Views: 17
Size: 82.0 KB

Mods so far:
Swapped out all of the silver bumper valance pieces with TRD Pro black pieces
TRD grille
Powdercoated the roof rack black
Installed 5000k HIDs
Installed Rigid fogs
Emblem overlays
Front windows tinted

I have RCI sliders on order. Going to be installing a lift this weekend, which will even out the factory rake. Cut the TRD skid to fit the KDSS system, so that'll go on after the lift is installed

Lift was installed in about 2.5hours and ended up installing the TRD skid plate as well. Probably one of the luckiest wrenching days where everything went smoothly with no issues.

Supposed to be 2.25" in the front and 1" in the rear, but looking like 2.5" and 1.5" for right now. Suspension still needs to settle.

Looks like a 'just right' amount of lift with that wheel/tire setup.

Yeah that was what I was shooting for... but now that DTD is offering their $100 off $400 sale... I'm battling with my impractical side on going to 33s

I wouldn't, I think that looks great the way it is. If you plan on actually offroading in it then that's a different story. What tires are on there now?

Yeah, I agree, but I think the pictures make the tires look deceiving bigger. In person it doesn't look bad, I think I got the right balance currently. I'm also enjoying the 17.5 MPG of mixed city/hwy, which was one of the biggest reasons why I sold the Jeep.

265/70/17, they're stock tire size. Falken is coming out with a 275 next year, I might go that route instead.

So I've owned the T4R for over a year now... just broke 4000 miles. I was working from home a lot and we usually drive my wife's company car whenever we go out. For the past few months I debated about selling it for a new JLUR Wrangler. Found a local dealer offering 6.5% off invoice. I was going to place a 2019 order in September, but I came to my senses and came back to my original justification for not buying a new JL. The new JLs are insanely expensive along with the aftermarket parts. It was hard for me to justify buying a new JLUR and throw more money to mod it. I truly take the T4R for granted, it does everything well. I just miss going doors/top less and wheeling (my 7 year old son regularly asks when we can go wheeling again).

Here's how the T4R currently sits. Since my last update I installed RCI sliders and LED interior lights

So the TSX needed more lift...-c2y8pjb.jpg

So with the renewed focus back on my T4R, I took advantage of the ebay 15% code and got a pedal commander and a garmin dash cam. Going to spend some time this weekend to do these installs.

I was torn about going 33s, wilco spare mount, c4fab front bumper and getting a roof rack. Home/work garage height restrictions played in the decision making and back and forth with the 33s and roof rack.... So I finally decided to place an order for a Gobi rack. My order was confirmed earlier this week and they estimated a 12-16 week production lead time. Seems like people are getting them more at the 20 week range. I researched all of the different roof rack options that were cheaper and had faster lead times (baja rack, front runner, etc), but everything pointed back to the Gobi

So ordered the stealth rack with the no rise, which is similar to the cement above. My plan is to do more overlanding with the T4R next year. Really want to make a road trip out to Moab with my Jeep/Toyota buddies, but potentially Acadia if Moab doesn't work out. I'm going to hold off on 33s until the rack is installed because I'm going to mount maxtrax and rotopaxs on the rack so that'll take away the height clearance. I should theoretically have 2inches to spare once the Gobi is mounted.

This is the c4fab front bumper that I've been wanting. It does require cutting the stock front bumper. Might see what black friday/xmas has in terms of sales that might persuade me into making this decision

Stop fooling yourself, buy the JLUR and go 40's; you know you want to but just in case:
