Since everyone else bought a Mazda..
The child seat room depends on your height. I'm 6'3" so I need major leg room up front and didn't want to have to move my seat forward everytime I put the child seat in. I would have had to in the Speed3 and I would have felt super cramped driving like that, which is why I ultimately went with the Speed6 which I can leave my seat as is with the child seat in.
You really have to be careful with used Mazdaspeeds. And actually this applies to all the turbocharged cars that cater to the younger crowds. Probably 90% of the original owners don't know crap about these little turbocharged cars, and they are likely to mess up the car pretty good. Just a heads up for you.
If it's high mileage, I wouldn't recommend you to get it.
And, dude, if your budget is $17k, just get a brand new MS3. Take out a small loan for it.

^ Agreed. I would not consider a high mileage Mazdaspeed. I got lucky finding mine with low miles and relatively stock for $17k, so if you're patient you'll find one, it's just going to take some time or you'll have to travel out of your area to find it. Just don't jump on anything that has high miles or is/was heavily modded.
so...just got back from an In n Out run with some friends.
decided to take the old highway home instead of the freeway. cat jumps out in front of me and i nail the brakes and swerve.
i still hit it and it caused some damage to my car. left front foglight busted and there a crack in the bumper. not sure if the bumper itself is cracked or if its the paint but the crack itself is pretty jagged
I think i MS3 is unlucky
i feel so bad for hitting that cat
i knew i should've taken the freeway home

the cat died. i flipped a U turn and stopped in the middle of the road facing traffic so i can see it with my lights. i still feel really bad this morning

Wow man that's horrible. I'm sorry you've had such bad luck with the car. If there was such thing as a auto-exorcist I'd suggest you go see one. Your experience with this car is reminding me of the movie "Christine".
yea, i dunno whats going on with this damn car lol
i think the glare shield in my foglight got knocked out of place. im going to brave the heat and give it a quick wash and get a better look.

its just the paint thats messed up, no damage to anything else.
i will probably get it redone in a couple months or in the spring once it warms up again. i dont want to do it now.
i need to save everything i can towards our house.

OMG didn't you have your car for like more than a year now?? And you found that out today?
I put a bus length on couple different modded RSX-S. At least the owners of those RSX-S were nice enough to give me a thumbs up. All the Si owners always give me this "my fuel was low excuse" look and leave.

fiancee got accepted into Cal Poly SLO and she is pretty certain thats where she is going.
soooo...ive decided to keep the car and mod it for now. i didnt want to dump much money into it, but i keep looking at parts online and i just cant help it

since she is staying at the coast, I am going to rent a room from a friend here until i figure out what to do school-wise, so im not going to be able to afford that much mods.

Suspension: Bilstein Sport + Swift Spring
Performance: Intake -> HPFP internal (autotech) -> Accessport -> downpipe -> Get it tuned.
You will be able to shit on a lot of EVOs/STis with that set up.
