what kills me is that because most of us aren't into that sort of thing or learning the limits of weight loss or performance on the TL...he likes to fire off about all of us being useless and this forum sucking.
Which I kinda take offense to.

and what do you bet...he's on a drill press?
does he go all willy nilly or does he draft his design in cad first to ensure the most material is removed?

So many QUESTIONS!!!

yeah he says some questionable shit and comes off as an asshole.

i always love when track guys start talking down to everybody they associate with, because they are now professional race car drivers

i can appreicate drilling and cutting holes and such, but it all depends where. While saving weight, you're also potentially fucking with structural rigidity. You know, that feeling when you're taking a sweeping turn at 120mph and you can feel the whole body of the car deforming. Yeah. Not good. Also can result in some more serious shit if crashing. I know he's definitely not the first to do it, but sometimes it's better to leave it to the engineers on a racing team, and not a guy equipped with a skill saw.

Simple response would have been, it's an aftermarket hood. could have moved on from all this a LONG time ago....however....keep dragging it out if you need to.

If my arguing with Maj sounds anything like this guy then i apologize for every word.

P.S. That hood comes stock on the CT-SUV i think.

No way. Left there about a year ago.
Between the desk pops, death threats, and 4 bosses that bicker. I couldnt last more than 3 years. Fun environment but not a great job.

Who makes the forged wheels for the V?

Are they made by GM, or outsourced?

Pretty much daily.

Yeah man. I cant tell you how often we would turn down selling a gun to someone and the next day we'll get a phone call saying they are going to kill everyone that works there. The first time it happened was the first time it happened to the current manager. His response was to let everyone that worked there carry if they wanted. He was let go sometime later. New manager told everyone they couldnt carry anymore and he got into a huge argument with the owner of the place... his daughter stepped in and said the manager was right... she runs the HR department while also running the actually business itself.

Honestly the death threats weren't as bad as employees accidentally firing a rental gun when a customer forgets to fire the last round and leaves it chambered when they hand it back to the employee.
Twice while I was in the shop trying to figure out why their POS system was such a POS a gun was fired on accident within a few feet of me. Im used to guns going off super close, ear pro or not. But when you turn and see the person wide eyed with a gun pointed maybe 2 feet away from you and a look on their face like "omg I almost killed you!" Yeah fuck that. I quit.

what kinda bullshit place are they running there?!?!
Want me to put in a good word at Big Al's down here?
Front desk clerk is missing screws but carries a massive S&W very obviously...and you can shoot sideways and all that jazz but they don't tolerate any bullshit with loaded guns and safety.

Lets also not forget that was the very range/shop that signed off on the first Smart Gun technology causing the NY gun reform that everyone freaked out about. Then they backed out on the deal once every other state raised their fist against Oak Tree Gun Club then allowed the CEO and spokeswoman of said smart gun companies info to leak resulting in more death threats to both of them brought to their personal phones and home addresses.

Fun place. ha!

In Fl? Thanks but that's a bit far of a commute.

Yea Id say I dont get how the place stays running but then again they have 26 police departments that train there. LAPD owns part of the range and they host huge banquets with big wigs like Nailin Pailin there for book signings and stupid shit all the time. Theyve had an employee die on the job and a guest commit suicide but no one really batted an eye.

Big of you to apologize for the original thread derailment.

Anyway, I, at least, am happy the hood situation got cleared up.

J.....thinking about heading down to FLA early next month...it's in the discussion/planning stage at the moment, but, if there is any chance of meeting up to say hello, will see if you are around.
