I actually think the sedan and coupe could be a tie depending on mods, but to me the sedan in stock form is pretty vanilla compared to the coupe.

You sure did, man...
PS...the filter was clean too! It didn't need to be cleaned.
Returned the $55 in hardware to Airaid (did you guys know they are actually a sub of K&N?)...
I found the missing screw in a pack of 2 at home depot for $1.65...exact match.

I just prefer the more 'sleeper' looks of the Vagon & Sedan over the Coupe.

Cool photo op at the a local park...
also, got the car lowered this weekend, still need to try and relax the bushings and let the fronts settle. Glad I went with the coupe springs...the rear is absolutely tits. Fronts are close to tits...we'll see, if in 2 weeks it hasn't settled a tad more, I'll cut the 5" off the springs.

The ride is just as good as stock but with less body roll...I love progressive springs.

Note: These pictures are NOT lowered yet.

All I've ever seen here are coupes and sedans. I think the coupes are hideous

The center exhaust is ugly. The back end of the car in general looks cartoonish. The proportions are fucked on that car. The rake is way over the top.

The sedan? Shiiiiiet... It's classy yet threatening all at the same time. It looks perfect.

So i'm not the only one to think that the coupe is ugly and totally a mistake. The sedan and wagon are sweet!

Springs installed this weekend! Woohoo...nothing crazy and font needs to settle a bit...but it looks very classy and the subtle change definitely added to the aggressive look.

Damnit it looks like it sits so perfect. So the coupe springs really are the perfect drop then?

Can you do a test for me and put about 500lbs in the back of the car and let me know if it bottoms out or rubs with the coupe springs. I am half serious about this. Actually maybe a little more than half.

LOL...if I had an easy way to load 500 pounds in there, I'd gladly check for you!
Right now, the rear seams to be sitting a tad lower...mainly because supposedly the fronts need to settle...we'll see where it ends up.
The body roll is greatly reduced and the ride feels stock to me. Perfect, no creaks or groans...I followed all the advice from ctsvo...

If it doesn't settle enough up front...I'll probably end up cutting the 5" off the front springs like they recommend...that would mirror the red wagon on coupe springs on weaponx's site.
I think to not have to do that, you'd have to go sedan springs but then you'll end up with feeling like you barely lowered the car, which won't work for you either!

Jason, have you considered those spring spacers you just twist into place for when you're going to load the wagon up for a trip? then you can pop them back out when you aren't worried about bottoming out?

I did install myself...

Thanks T!!!
Install wasn't bad at all...probably about 4 hours but that was because I took the time to clean the wheels inside and out and apply wax to them...that ate up a bit...
I also took my sweet time to do all the forum recommendations to avoid squeaks and to relax the torsional bushings etc...plus, first time...
Now, I bet I could swap back and forth all 4 corners in under 2 hours.

Who knows if it is a really 500lbs of weight that I normally have on the trips back home with the box on top but the dogs alone are 160lbs plus about 30lbs of dog food between the 4 of them. So 200 just in that without any luggage at all. Might really only be 300 lol.

Are spring spacers really a thing and are they actually safe if so? I have never heard of them before.

Definitely can't wait to see how they settle but really I would think after 24hrs they would have done all the settling they would do. Then again I have never dealt with springs only coils with spring preloads.

Also did you document your install at all and do better writeup than what is on the ctsv forum?

I did...
I uploaded to photobucket and plan to add to that "read this before you install springs" thread over there...
I had you in mind while I was doing it since I knew you'd be following suit.

It's a very simple install with a couple of tips and tricks...no spring compressor rental required either.

I can sit my fat ass with 2 slurpees and a slim jim in the rear hatch and have my wife driver around if you'd like...should be close to 300 pounds.

I agree on the settling...but it's pretty well proven thought that progressive springs needs some time to settle down to where they'll sit...mainly the fronts too since they have the weight of the engine working on them so they are usually rated higher to accommodate.

After coils though, I cannot fathom you being happy with less of a drop than what I got going on in the rear. It looks spectacular.

The spacer I'm talking about is something like this...

I would have gotten a coupe, but need 4 doors.. yada yada.. more whores.

I didn't say I hate them...I said I liked the coupe, I love the sedan and I adore the wagon!
I think the coupe can look cool and futuristic!

I think Justin Bieber ruined it for me with his WCC one.

Thank you good sir

Add the dogs in there with you and you might just have it

So how many finger gap is there between the tire and the fender now with the coupe springs?

Those things look so unsafe and I wonder if they will damager the springs since you would be pushing only certain points of the spring.

LOL...yeah, you're right...me and the dogs would be pretty close to 450 pounds.
I don't know...I don't think they're unsafe and you'd only be using them when you load up!
Get rear air suspension...

PS...driver side rear...felt like caked on fluid under the dust cover when I pressed the lower control arm down to squeeze the spring out.

Rear is probably 1 finger, front is probably 2. Maybe less...
but if you look at the car as a whole, it has a front bias rake as it is.

I started off at around 28" fender to ground all around.

That sounds perfect. Now you just have to figure out how to fit yourself and two dogs in the back hatch

You are describing a pretty perfect drop. Once I get the other mods paid off that are coming then I can get these springs then next.

I too think the Coupe is cool! I'm just not a 2 door guy because as soon as I see them I'm like, what a nightmare for my kid and/or dogs!
Then again, I have the S2000 but that's a convertible so I expect it to be impractical.

Thanks D...I appreciate it! I love how it looks too!

Biggest problems would be teasing them into thinking we're going somewhere, and they're fkng slobber and nails! I know...I'll put the S2000 in the trunk!
Yeah, the $260 for the springs didn't break the bank...and I used money I got from the sale of the Flashpro so it didn't feel like I was spending new money either.
Oddly enough, I am holding off on spacers...I actually don't think it looks too sunken in and I'm happy with not rubbing at all.

Yeah the springs are not expensive which is definitely nice. As soon as I figure out my possible two issues with the car then I can get some springs. Maybe I will buy them when I buy the two new rear struts I need.

I wonder if they rear magneride shocks are just not rated for the additional weight over them?
I swear, my 2 rear shocks had some collected "fluid" under the dust boot that wasn't exposed until I pushed them down a little...
Now I'm wondering if mine could stand a replace too...
I could swear I heard a light "thud"...maybe not...
Fk it...handles well...YOLO that bish...
good thing about the rear is there's ONE bolt that attaches to the strut that you touch to swap springs, but otherwise, it's an unrelated swap (front is not, it's all one unit).

Yeah mine didn't start out this way. I am thinking they may have been on the verge of going bad and my think long distance trips with extra weight pushed them over the top. I just hope that new ones won't go bad from the same amount of weight right away. If that is the case then I will be forced to go with coils.

I only get the thud when going over speed bumps. Interesting to see if you are having a thud as well. I might try and mount my go pro back there under the car somewhere and make some videos.
