You die, they die...everyone dies! That's my Jeep!

Fuck that Audi bitch ass...I feel bad for Audi for the new rep...who would let people fuck no matter what he drove.

I'm too cheap!
Oddly it specifies 1999.5 to 2006 only...I wonder what changed.
Supercharging is an option too...I need to get on the forums. If I found a bolt on
kit for under $1500 used I'd seriously think about it.

I don't think I mentioned but over last weekend I spent $50 and a few hours cutting, drilling out and replacing
the transmission mount. Previous owner didn't address because the bolts were rusty and stripped. I learned how
to use MAP gas to heat the nuts to remove them with a 1/4" ratchet head. Not before snapping a stud holding
the slave cylinder on though

anyway..used a chisel and hammer to get a sawzall blade in to cut the bolts...drilled frame and ran some 6" 8.8 bolts
through with some spacers to lower the transmission mount to take some of the angle out of the driveshaft to accommodate
the lift. Made everything much more solid.

I have been thinking about how to address the ability to go topless...I think I've decided to pull and clean the carpet
for resale later...in the meantime I'm going to go ahead and rhino line the interior to keep it from rusting and not give
a fuck about rain. I'm going to add a mesh overhead for light rain and UV protection...and a car cover for when it's
parked at home. Doesn't look any harder to remove than a soft top looks to remove windows to drop top.
I'll also look into a locking rear cover to protect the sub.

Cool, J! So, no slapsticking here, but given this is your girl's ride, did she request for this or she just knows and expects you to modify/tinker it anyways?

Yeah, she just knows that I'll address what needs to be addressed.
I need to replace some of the ac o-rings and juice the freon up...
the good thing is all parts are cheap and the jeep is super simply put together.
but actual visual mods I'll run by her so she is on board. We had to address
the master cylinder replacement together and she went and changed to help
me try and get that work done this weekend but by the time she did I told her we
needed to go to the store to buy the hardware.

If you're going topless then don't bother with the AC repair...

I bought it this way, motherfucker!
Plus, "they're projector style so they aren't blinding"
-oncoming traffic

I think.

You're right, Sam...but for the sake of Florida, I gotta fix it.

I think I'm going Smittybilt baja top over the mesh...if i get that spice colored one with header it's only like 40 more than
the alien sunshade mesh thing and it'll actually keep the sun and rain off of me.

It's like the S2000 though...it is so much more enjoyable without it.
I don't want to sell it and I don't want to spend a ton buying real soft top hardware...
I think this is the best of both worlds. Smittybilt top keeps sun and rain off, easy to remove alone...
then the car cover shit can really keep rain out when it's parked...I'll store the hard top for now.
Especially now that cooler weather and less storms are coming in the new few months.

These options are all super cheap...cover and bikini top with header bar are $200...

I just watched part of an old Chrysler informational video on correct way to open and close the soft top...
I'm so spoiled by the S2000...there are so many steps to dropping the top on this thing. I'm glad I went the route I did.
