Should be getting that longer pitman arm thrown on this afternoon.
Get this...there's a long standing fuel sending unit recall on mine...I called Jeep 2 weeks ago
they're like yeah...22 years old...okay we'll call you when we get the part.

The most toxic.
Well, with the help up a pickle fork and pitman puller got
the stock arm off pretty easily after some map gas and sledge
love.
Also threw some smoked vinyl over the fog lights...kills output...I want to make them functional but I need to do it right.

I can't take full credit since I had to borrow the wood from my neighbor
Thanks Sam...
yeah after doing the drop pitman arm I was like dude, tires are squatting out...
I'll drive it around a little today then check toe again...then adjust steering wheel.
I should likely replace the hardware while I'm at it.
Thanks Sam...

So in typical fashion sometimes you have to take two steps forward and take a step back for progress.
Sometimes the internet suggestions don't jive with what you are seeing in front of your face.
I installed the extended pitman arm because it was recommended if you have a dropped bracket track bar...
holy fuck did the thing drive like shit...the steering got so vague I considered ghost riding the whip because I
think that would have given better steering control. After looking more closely at it...the steering drag link was
actually LOWER than the track bar which I am guess gives too much play before the tires react after you put
in input from the wheel.
Sooo...ordered something my neighbor and friend recommended called "the cure" which is a delrin bushing
that squeezes on the ballsjoint between the bars on the "y" bar steering...put that on along with the stock pitman...
Night and day...butter smooth.
To make it even better...I ordered the greasable beefy MOOG sway endlinks...the rough country quick disconnect
ones were cool looking and only a little more money but even at their smallest setting they were too long and allowed
way too much flex on the front sway.
working comfy with a light and a 4# sledge...my kinda labor
"the Cure"...fuckin Godsend...finally got the steering wheel set straight yesterday and wow...the thing actually handles
and drives nicely now.
Moog MUCH beefier and tighter and can be greased...a huge plus

Glad that fixed your problem. Next time look into a drag link flip kit, it does exactly what you described in that it raises the drag link back to where it needs to be. Also, the getting the steering wheel straight thing is infuriating lol. I still need to tweak mine again because it drives me nuts.
Amazing how much you need to do to a suspension just to jack it up a few inches huh? I found out for sure that I need new adjustable lower control arms as my caster angle is all kinds of fucked up which is definitely contributing to the wandering feeling on the road.

What part, pounding meaty greased rods, slapping balljoints, getting a 3 inch raise, drag link flip kit ('ole drag pull and tuck), or having to spend money on all types of aftermarket shit to keep your car driveable?

To be fair, if you don't change any of it and leave it stock it's perfectly fine to drive around all day in. Once you start fucking with stuff, then the issues come around. I don't think this is all that different from any other car with new control arms, ball joints, camber plates, wheel spacers, coil overs, etc. The difference is Jeep parts have cool names that sound fancy. Also, it's an immensely inefficient design which is why it has so many damn parts.
