Question for Tein SS owners

Hi,

I had tein SS coilovers installed on my ride (02 TLs). I don't think the installer did a good job in putting it in.

Does anyone know how I can check whether the coilovers were installed evenly on all 4 wheels without being on a perfectly leveled surface? Will counting the number threads on the coilovers for each wheel work?

Thanks for any feedback, Moo

Counting the threads is good to estimate but remember the car is not perfectly balanced front to back side to side. If you are typically the only person in the car, the best thing is to have someone measure it while you are sitting in the driver's seat.

Easiest way to do this is to use a tape measure. You need to be on a fairly level surface to do this.

With the car on the ground, measure from the bottom of the wheel well to the ground. Adjust accordingly.

FYI, with the coilovers set perfectly even on both sides, one side of the car will be lower than the other, especially the rear. (approx 1/4") I believe it's the drivers side that sits lower.

it's like that on all 2nd gen CL's and TL's.

True Matt, driver side usually sits lower after some time due to the extra weight of the driver. Same way on the first gens and pretty much all other cars i've dealt with.

i was told it's the way the unibody is put together and it's that way from the factory.

Thanks guys.

Using the method suggested by NSXNEXT:

Front passenger side: 11 3/4 in.
Back passenger side: 12 in.
Front Driver side: 11 5/8
Back passenger side: 11 7/8

I guess the measurements aren't too far off. I wasn't aware that our car was not perfectly balanced.

That's just about perfect.
