Probably cheaper to just get a junk trans from a picker lot and replace

And MB would not sell me any parts without having work done there. Something to do with "theft parts" or some BS like that. Even dealer to dealer they wouldn't sell it. Out of Germany for awhile, feared this would happen. Just give me my damn manual trans, MB!

Still have to have it reprogrammed at MB, plus cost of trans and that wasn't going to save me much money anyway. Then the worry of "what has this trans been up to?"

I'm just thinking, relative to the cost of that body work, isn't a repair justifiable to save what you've already done?

Perks of dealership job. That whole deal cost me $200 cash to my painter and a bottle of Jack to my body guy. And that's what they told me, not the other way around.

Nice build and sorry about the transmission issue. The ML350 I have suffered from a conductor plate and valve body. Mercedes wouldn't let me buy them without them doing the repair themselves. It was a pretty expensive repair. Transmission still doesn't shift right from 2nd to gear (mostly when not fully warmed up).
