Wowser. The cold definitely doesn't agree with the Italians... I once showed up to a fancy restaurant in Greenwich, CT, on Valentines Day and my rather loud 375-hp WRX was being drowned out by an even louder and angrier racket, which sounded like pistons in pain. Turned out it was somebody trying to get their Ferrari started in the 20-degree weather... a smalll huddle of valets and passers-by were trying to "help." Kinda hard to feel bad for the guy, though.

Noble M400... I had to look it up:

For the curious, there's a Car & Driver story here: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...007-noble-m400

You can tell from the plate that the snowbirds are in full force in AZ at this point....

the reason I asked the question is because, the first time I saw a C7 on the street (which also was the first time I had a ride in one, since it was my friend's ) - I was pretty awestruck by its presence and look, much more so than in pictures or at the auto show. And, that's why I was curious to know how Doom felt when he saw it for the first time on the street. That is all. But that is a stupid question (?????)

I know I'm crazy but the new Corvette has been universally -ed upon since it was revealed. So, your question was like asking Doomie what it was like for him to see a Ferrari roar past him. But, hey...I amuse easy and so, hence why I wiped out the post.

Saw my first C7 in the wild a few days ago. Interestingly enough, it was of the convertible variety.

^^^^That's actually a 335is. They put together a nice version of the 3 with that one.

The 335is comes stock with the Style 313 wheel, 18 inch version. I know the 19s are optional. The ones in that picture look more like the optional wheels for the E60 550 with the M-Sport package.

This, plus the badge underneath the fender blinker light and the rear diffuser is different as well.

Honestly. I was driving in rush hour. The C7 was in the faster moving lane. I passed it once. Got my phone ready. Shot a few pics but that was the only one I got worth posting. My initial reaction was "oh shit a C7!!!". After snapping the pic it was gone.

I saw a couple more C7s over the weekend, and I agree it looks much different in person than in pics. Personally, after all the hype I was disappointed -- I find it really ugly. I pointed it out to my wife without telling her what it was, and she did not care for it, either. Diff'rent strokes for different folks.

Yeah, you're right, and that's the reason I asked what he thought. People's reactions to the car HAVE been widely varied, it's not been a general "wow" across the board. Anyone who has actually followed the car at more sites than just here would know that, it's pretty common knowledge. I would say the split between those who approve and disapprove might even be around 60/40. Pretty strong split. Nice to hear your thoughts as well.

Personally I wasn't terribly impressed with it at the auto show or with the early photos, I though it looked just OK. I was having trouble with the same stuff most people had trouble with. When I saw the white one I photographer in person, I was wow'ed a good deal, and a bit surprised by that. I still am not 100% behind it, it still has some cues I have trouble with. I am optimistic for the Z06 and ZR1 I have a feeling those models will take care of those things I similarly wasn't entirely thrilled with the base model C6. But the Z06 and ZR1 sure thrilled me.
