in a ditch effort, ive re-directed focus on the 2015 Genesis and JGC Limited. i think ive found that value and space take top priority for me....and for some reason, the GLK boxy interior is VERY appealing.
GLK is a bitch car.

I am 6'1 195.... go drive s2000 for a few days and then you will find 3 series interior to be extremely spacious.

But yah for the same price as 528, you can get a much better car -> Genesis.

But i would lease it first though to see how you like it. Then you can always purchase the car later if you love it. or dump it.
But i would

yeah.

a cinnamon genesis drove past me the other day. pinstripe leather and a pano roof, with 2 car seats in the back. it piqued my interest so much, that i bee-lined it to the subway to go directly to the hyundai dealership to take a further look.

night and day.

the last gen blended into the crowd. the new one will snap your neck with a "what's that!?" reaction...assuming you see it from the front first.

the paint quality is superb. the front hood is big enough to sleep three, and the front grill is the size of an upright tombstone that sits inches above the ground. i would most similarly compare it to having the visual presence of a Jaguar XJ....the rear 3/4 view is nothing to write home about, as it looks like every other hyundai from the back.

also, between the fishbowl panoramic cabin, there is a clear view of the padded, perforated seatbacks with contrast piping. from 10 feet, the seating looks straight from bentley/rolls royce.

from the picture link i found something even more interesting:

Since the Genesis coupe was a direct copy of G37C, it seems Hyundai has more balls than Infiniti now.

if priced right, i think i might just found my next affordable beast.

It is a very significant upgrade. It's amazing how far that company has come in such a short time. I have a feeling the next Equus is going to be ridiculous.

If I was looking for a big sedan, I would absolutely go look at one and hope my local dealership wasn't run by assclowns.

There are only two CPO Allroads near me. One has had two owners (both fleet owners), 15K miles, it's got the $1,000 full paint job in Phantom black with wood trim. Navi, Bluetooth, Xenon, Audi Key etc.

The other is basic Black and Grey, Xenons, Audi Key, Navi, stainless trim, 10K miles, one owner.

They are essentially the same cars for the same price except the full-paint and two owners on one and the Bang & Olufsen on the other.

Here are the links:

Link 1: One Owner

Link 2: Two Owner

Neither have the sport interior package, which I'd like to have. However, that's a pretty rare thing apparently.

That said, the two owners worry me despite that car being my preferred configuration.

Both have free Carfaxes if you happen to check it out.

Much prefer the fully painted, at least on those particular colors.

Audi North America, in their infinite wisdom, decided to only allow black and white to be full paint colors. So even if you want to pay $1,000 to have it entirely Blue in a standard metallic color, Audi says no. Brilliant.

I agree that I prefer the full paint. I'd take a metallic white or black color.

I'm thinking about going to drive one. If I could combine the two cars, I'd have my ideal Allroad.

have you seen the paint option in person?

the painted fenders do not match. it looks like, well, like painted plastic, and has much more dull of a finish than the metallic paint. as a matter of fact, the fender paint may have no metallic properties at all. that said, i could see why audi did not offer the paint package on non-black/white colors - it simply would look too off.

however, i still think black/white full paint > x

assuming you are paying 70% of sticker, that $1,000 option will cost you $700. for $700, i would like to think that you could find a body shop that could do a much better job painting the fenders. if you go that route, you would be much less limited in your search, and you could also go out and get non black/white colors.

I guess that makes sense. I thought it was the same kind of plastic as the bumpers. I guess they use different plastic for the arches, etc.

If that's the case, I think I'd get a light color so I got dark plastic instead. I think it looks better than dark with the lighter grey.

Going to bide my time until the right one comes along. I want my next car to be my last for a while

The ones locally are most but not all of what I want.

assuming there are going to be a few thousand discount on new ones, the realistic difference is like $5k.

um... $5k cheaper, 15k miles, does not have sport interior

Or $5k more, 0 miles and have exactly the way you wanted it.

$39K is about the upper end of what I'm comfortable paying for a car. I don't want to put down $20K or have a $700/mo car note

I should add that the extra 2 years and 50K miles of CPO warranty is very attractive.

yah see if you can get some discount on the CPO ones.

Otherwise your monthly payment between the new and the used one is only about $100 a month difference.

I think that is a Euro Allroad because of the color. But it looks great in one color with a drop. If I was buying new and had the money i would ask about Audi Exclusive to get a special color in full paint.

I was looking at the V60 and I was really surprised how similar in size it is to my Focus.

It's longer with a longer wheelbase but from the front seats back it's basically the same as my Focus ST. It's a little narrower too. I had thought it was bigger inside because it's longer but really, it isn't. Still a nicer car though.

The V60 is nice but I think overall the Audi is a better looking car. I'm trying to talk the wife into getting one.

Good luck dude. Hopefully your wife is more appreciative of wagons than mine.

But, it seems to be a trend that women generally don't like wagons? I know speaking to my friends' significant others, they all feel that way. WTF.

It's because they don't want to become their mothers. They don't realize that the car isn't the reason they do

The Audi definitely is a great looking car. But it's slow and gets shitty gas mileage. And it's crazy expensive compared to the Drive-E Platinum V60.

I'm just trying to decide if I want to trade the Focus for a nicer car or if I really need a practical sports car. I haven't decided yet. The Golf R gets such good feedback in reviews that I feel like I need to wait to drive that car before buying something.

Every time I drive the Focus ST and the car sputters to 200RPM, I just get grumpy and want to trade it

Maybe I should just get a M235i and shove the dogs in the back

Now you're making sense! I love that car and if I didn't already own a 350Z 'vert, it would be on my very short list for a summer screamer.

I'm more bothered by BMW's naming convention.

1M
M235i
M3
M4
etc. wtfack?

I get it. There can only be one "M1"

that is not as bad as BMW's new way of naming their chassis code. i already lost track.

BTW: M235i should not be in there. it is not a M.
