I am a little cautious since the front setup has failed on me in my last two vehicle with air ride (while driving)...it is a horrible feeling
I am testing out my current setup for another week or so....if everything works out I will be installing my front strut bags

Well I said fairwell to my beloved Accord on Friday. I listed her on Craigslist Wednesday morning and handed over the keys to a very cool local guy that definitely seemed deserving of her Friday afternoon. It was sad to see and hear the Accord back out of the driveway for the last time, but it was time to part ways and move on to a new chapter in my life.
This is one of the last photos I took of the Accord on a weekend anniversary getaway last October in southern Arizona. She even held her own off-road. I'll miss her.
I'm currently car-less borrowing my wife's '01 Corolla. I was dead set on getting a Pontiac G8 GT, but they're over-priced and extremely hard to find around here with low miles. Plus I started remembering why I loved the Accord when filling up at the gas pump.
I test drove a few different pre-owned cars over the weekend and one spoke to me. I never saw it coming and never even really considered owning this brand of car (although I've admired a few different models over the years), but it was a great test driving experience and I'm pretty sold on it. And it's priced about $7000 less than the original price point I started at.
This happens everytime I go car shopping; I start thinking large and fast and end up going with small and economical. Of course it has a fun factor, just not a 360hp V8 RWD fun factor, but then again very few cars do in my particular price range. A few teaser specs: 6 SPD Manual -Turbo - AWD. It has good aftermarket support and it's neither Japanese nor German.
To be continued...

Don't be sad. There's very good reasons for parting ways. A future little back seat passenger will be delivered in June.
I was stoked it went to a guy who will appreciate it and take care of the car. So much better than the typical dealership trade-in experience.

Oh dang, congrats! That's awesome that you're expanding the family
I'm glad the car went to a good owner.

Thats what Im thinking. Or even the SAAB 9-3 Turbo X. They sell in the low $20s now, and those are badass cars. There just isnt many of them on these shores.

I hope its not the new Sonata turbo..... Please no.
And StrikingAccord I know what you mean by having air bag/strut failures while driving. My front right popped on me on the highway while I was doing 85. Pretty scary situation.

It's not a S60R, but it is a Volvo. Meh, I'm not one for teasing, it's a very well cared for 2005 Volvo S40 T5 AWD 6mt. Only 35k miles, original owner.

Nice! I actually prefer the S40 since they are smaller then the S60. Those motors are pretty good too. Rather tame in stock form, but they can be opened up nicely via the aftermarket.

I really like the Mazdaspeed6s, but they're very hard to find. One I wanted to check out was sold by the time I called on it. Damn good deal on it, too.

Great looking car! Congrats!

Congrats Todd, when fatherhood calls that baby takes precedent over everything else a baby seat in a 2-door is no bueno.
I sorta grew to like the S40 when my friend briefly had one. It seemed like a solid car, even though it was the non-turbo FWD auto version. They seem kind of expensive new but should be a solid deal when used. Hopefully there are fewer pricks messing with your car this time around.

Probably because it confuses them. Most people know V8s, V6s, and I4s (and I cant tell you how many dumbasses have said their Civic/Neon/Sentra has a "V"4. )

Thanks all! It's still not mine yet, but I expressed how much I liked it yesterday and the dealership seemed willing to work with me. I should know more tomorrow.
'05 Volvo S40 T5:
Torque: 236 ft-lbs. @ 1500 rpm
Horsepower: 218 hp @ 5000 rpm
'03 Accord V6:
Horsepower: 240 hp @ 6250 rpm
Torque: 212 ft-lbs. @ 5000 rpm
I think it's amazing how the horsepower and torque numbers are almost identical but complete reversed! I've been reading up on the aftermarket stuff. It responds very well to mods. Just a K&N Typhoon gives it 15hp/20ft-lbs tq. Pretty impressive.
I actually came very close to pulling the trigger on a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 with 9k miles on it, but the back seat is just too small to fit a baby seat in with me being able to put my seat all the way back since I'm 6'3". The S40 has just enough more room to make it possible.

And look at where the peak torque is, damn near idle!
Ever since I got my stroker built, the torque down low is a welcome addition. I don't need to rev the piss out of the motor to go anywhere - of course, I do, because its fun
What sort of engine management is available for it? Im sure a reflash would open it up quite a bit.

talk about surprise. I thought you'd be one of the few to hold on to the Accord till it dies.
But congrats on the new car, and of course the little one! It's great that you can have a DD that you can still have fun with
Any plans?

You know ST, if you do get the Volvo, youre going to have to change your s/n on v 6 p if you still plan on posting there.

^ Lol I like that! I'm not sure I'd continue posting on V 6 P though. The past few months it's gone downhill with all those newbz starting ridiculous intake and exhaust threads. I like it here on AZine just fine. I WILL MAKE THIS VOLVOZINE!

Get in line. We've got Audizine, Bimmerzine, Subiezine, hell even Acurazine. It's a long list.

True, true. Let's hope the car is still available and I get it, otherwise it'll be Trekzine for me for a while.

Here is mine. 2006 Honda Accord EXL V6 sedan (5at) purchased in August of 2009 with only 20,000 miles on the clock. Since then I have put 42,000 miles on the car and I wish I hadn't because I want to preserve the car for as long as I can. However, in NY that's very hard to do... I'm taking public transportation more now these days and driving my car less to keep it in the best shape I can.
The mods I've done:
-Debadged rear
-Nokya Hyper yellow 2500k 9005 DRL/High beam
-JBL GTO rear 6x9s and front tweeters
-Morimoto Mini H1 retrofit with 4300k XB bulbs
-17mm TL rear sway bar
-Weathertech Digitalfit front floormats and Honda all-weather rear floormats
-Splash guards
-Trunk tray
-Removed intake resonator
-Redline Racing/Lightweight Racing Type-F transmission fluid
-Mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic engine oil
Here is how my baby looked when I picked it up for the first time:
And some shots from then to now....
Here is a pic when I got my "suicide door" in November of 2009:
Biatch that did it:
The car has since been fixed and is slowly but surely getting the proper mods as I see fit and as I get the money lol.... But I have always tried my best to take care of it:
More, and better pics to come when the weather gets warmer
