I still got it but I won't be making the meet. My car is not in good condition at all. Plus with the fam it's hard to have a life anymore.

Admittedly, modified Accords are VERY hard to catch on the street these days. With old Civics and Tegs, its the other way around, with stock examples now becoming more desirable

^ Same here. I VERY RARELY see an Accord that's been modified as much as mine is, and a 6mt Accord, modded or not, is still a pretty rare sight.

So in honesty, what do you guys think of my headlights? Someone offered me close to what I paid for them and I'm....torn. I like the looks of the projectors but think they look a little ricey with all the colors on at night? I would put back the stockies and powdercoat them with eventually maybe TSX projectors.

Thanks for the input!

I'll do that...my stockies are really hazed and I want to find someone to clean them up to look really clear again. I want to throw in yellow bulbs for the DRLs and eventually powdercoat the inside to make them a little darker.

If you end up doing that, dont go with TSX projectors. They are good projectors, but for the money there are plenty of better options.

I like the bulk. The 7th gen were a little too bland for me. Especially the 4dr.

I saw a newer Honda Accord sedan today with full Inspire conversion. Lowered with Inspire trunk and few other good looking goodies. Looked awesome.

The extra weight for me is a little bit of a concern .. I think my 7G handles decently for pretty much stock suspension / ride height.

I test drove that 09 6MT Coupe for shits and giggles are here are my impressions in comparison to my 04 6MT.

Acceleration:

I don't know if it was just me, but the 8G felt the same if not slower than my 7G. I did a couple 3rd gear pulls on the freeway and the power didn't feel as immediate and spunky .. maybe the added refinement and ride comfort made me feel less connected with the car? The torque down low is definitely improved, but up top I didn't really feel any difference.

Handling:

I could definitely feel the added bloat, although not much. I felt like I was driving my 3G TL again with slightly better handling characteristics. I couldn't get too carried away considering I had somebody in the car test driving with me, but I got the gist of it.

Brakes:

Nothing special, about the same as my 7G.

Interior:

Much much better. The seats were more comfortable and plush. The cabin noise is MUCH lower, (Probably because I'm used to hard motor mounts and a deleted midmuffler) felt nice driving a car that was quiet again .

I hate to say it but ...

I like my Accord more

^ I'm not surprised by your driving impressions.

I've never driven 8th Gen, but I imagine the improvements I've made to my 7th Gen would trump a stock 8th Gen.

The biggest factor holding the 8th Gen back is the added weight/size. A bump in HP is always welcome, but when the additional mass negates it, then it's an easy accessment as to why the 7th Gen "feels" better to a lot of people.

Thats exactly how I feel. Driving my brothers 08 is nice because its quiet and comfortable. But it feels like around 5k rpms it runs out of breath. I feel like I have to downshift to pass people on the highway as well. And Im pretty convinced all of Hondas stock brake systems suck. I also feel as though DBW is very inconsistent, and my brother agrees with me.

How did you feel about the blind spots?

Oh GOD , I forgot to mention the blind spots.

I test drove the car at around 8 oclock at night and the car had really dark tints on the back windows. I had to subconsciously keep track of cars that I passed to insure I was making a safe lane change .

Overall, the car is really nice .. I would own one if I were 35.

I'm forty-five, and I prefer the seventh gen.

I find the seventh gen 6MT still has a degree of sportiness. As much as I enjoy the eighth gen, I found it a little too big and a little disconnected for my tastes. The steering also seemed to be a little over-boosted as well.

I drove a friends 08 AV6 Sedan and weirdly had the same thoughts. It definitely felt smoother and a lot quieter. The quality of materials felt slightly better as well. But that's where it ended. Contrary to what others think though, I prefer the interior layout of the 7 more. It feels very close to my old 3G TL. I'd get another 7G before buying an 8th.

So much 7th Gen !

And what's up with the "If I was 35 y/o I'd buy one" comment? I'm 33 y/o and I'll be rocking my 7th Gen 6MT well past 35 y/o.

I think if Honda hadn't felt the need to supersize the 8G Accord, it would've been a MUCH better car. It would address most of the complaints about the car's lack of sportines, probably not a big deal for the majority of sedan owners, but definetely for V6 coupe prospectives, who are shopping the car against the Altima coupe, Mustang V6 etc.

My brother is 35 this year

And someone on the previous page mentioned the 7th gen interior being better. Ergonomically, absolutely. But I feel as though the 8th gen stepped it up a bit in terms of quality. I dont mind the amount of buttons on the 8th gen, but I do mind how unintuitive they are laid out. But if my 57 year old mother can get used to it (and even figure out how to use bluetooth!), I guess it isnt too bad.

Still, Ill take a 7th gen over an 8th gen any day. Especially if we are talking about the sedans.

Is 15k a fair price for a black/black 07 AV6/6 EX/L Sedan with 25k miles? A friend of mine is looking for one .
