regular near me is anywhere from $4.15 - $4.30 for 87
91 is $4.50-$4.75 Guess its a good thing the challenger isnt driven every day...but fuck the jeep is expensive to fill up, too. The Prius is $40-50 to fill up now.
I REALLY hope the desiel jeep GC isnt way over priced when it hits next Jan...I really want to replace the Prius with that when the lease is up.

as much as i love driving my car, i'm a lot happier with more change in my wallet.
got a new job 6 months ago about a mile from my house, so i just ride a bicycle to work everyday and drive my car on the weekends when i have to. it's amazing how much you save over the course of a single month. i was filling up once a week, $55x4=$220.
now i fill up once a month, if that.

I too spend about $250 a month in gas with my current commute of 46 miles per day + weekend activities.
Now that I'm moving closer to work in September, I should be only commuting 20 miles per day ... I'm looking at about $100 just in gas savings per month.

Incidentally, does anyone know if any crew members are kept on the rigs?

Started taking the bus to work/school a couple of years ago when gas hit $4/gal and haven't looked back. Get to relax and play on my phone or take a short nap and I'm home in 30 minutes. Sure the it takes twice as long and I have to walk a few blocks but I haven't touch the gas cap since my last fill up indicated in my sig and I still have 1/2 tank left.
For those with a steady commute, I suggest you just look into public transportation. Especially students because I get free unlimited rides every 6 months with my school ID. My state agency will also pay you to take the bus. I don't think it covers the cost of a monthly pass but it's a big chunk of it.

^ Yeah, that came as no surprise. I'm sure they were going to cut production even if it hugged Florida. Anything to raise prices. Glad we filled up all of the rides last week. Shouldn't need to fill-up till gas is on the way back down...

What's it like in the future?
Gas still holding steady at
87 = $4.29
89 = $4.39
91 = $4.49
for now
On a positive note, crude oil down $1.09 so far today.

The price of oil is falling on increased speculation that the U.S. will release oil from reserves to ease the commodity's rising cost.
Oil prices are up more than $8 per barrel this month. Releasing crude from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve would boost the supply of oil, which would drive prices lower. Oil was previously released due to conflict in Libya and after Hurricane Katrina.
Forecasts for Tropical Storm Isaac also moderated, easing concerns that the storm would damage to key oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center predicts it will grow to a Category 1 hurricane.
About one-quarter of the nation's oil is produced in the Gulf of Mexico.

Twice this year my fuel expense for both household cars have exceed $1000/mo - normally I'm in the $800-900/mo range for gas.
Longer commute on my part, plus the extra driving on the weekends means I make up the majority of the gas bill. The finance fills in the rest with the ever evolving HO 302 project.
