Drifting
yea, I think last week I was talking to my parents in So Cal and they paid more for gas than me here in Hawaii. I'm not sure about this week, the cheapest I've seen in the past few days was like $4.19 for regular I've been avoiding getting gas, but I think i'll have to tomorrow. Luckily I don't drive much, and my car gets like 30mpg, so I just have to laugh at all the SUVs I see driving around and the gas prices don't bother me quite as much.

this has been a rather cold winter with snow (a extreme rarity). Sales tax on a car purchase is 3% (it is referred to as the highway use tax). It is a one license plate state. If you have tints on the car they charge you an extra $10.00 at inspection time (They are trying to do away with the inspections) Every year after you renew the registration on the car you will receive a annual personal property tax bill- amount depends on the value of the car and what county you live in. Last time( 4/10) I think the amount on my tsx was $110.00. If you live in say Southport you will very close to the South Carolina border and Myrtle Beach. Gas prices in SC are even lower than NC. The water temp at the ocean near us is about 57 and rising. if you want more info I will try to provide it for you.
It's going to be really hard to remove ourselves from Virginia as we are both natives and have long family ties to our beloved state. But the warmer climate for most of the year, plus a more Southern mindset (something that has been all but lost in the northern part of Virginia - somehow these folks dont' think of themselves a Southern) is extremely appealing to me. Perhaps one day, South Carolina will see me on a daily basis.
Wilmington has turned into a major player on the southeast coast. A lot to offer folks who live there. I have a cousin who used to live in Southport and is now in Carolina Beach. And the food is a whole other fabulous experience in the low country.

That was uncalled for...
Cry me a river...
We're currently paying $1.22 per liter.... If you convert that over it equals $4.61 per gallon AND that's for regular. If you want premium it's $1.40 per liter, or $5.29 per gallon.
I knew I should've bought a Chevy Volt.......

And then there's always Charleston, SC to consider. I love the low country and it has been my desire to one day move down there. We go down to the Grand Strand a couple of times a year (will be heading down in five weeks) and skirt Wilmington along the way via 421 to 17, right by the battleship.

Even with $8 in toll, a 60L tank (16 US gallons) = 16 gallons X $1.50 (price difference for premium) = $24 - $8 = $16 savings per tank.
And if you go for groceries ... we're talking serious savings versus buying stuff in Canada.
Thank goodness my wife works in the US so I don't need to exchange currency.
Going back to the OP ... $4/gallon for gas? That's so 2008 (in Canada) ...

Gas over here in New Brunswick, NJ is $3.67 for premium. It took me almost sixty dollars to fill it up at a range of 40. How much is it costing you guys where your at?
