$5.39 is insane. It didn't get that high here in Cali in the summer of '08. It was almost like they were scared to brake the $5 gallon mark. $4.99 for premium then poof it tumbled down.

Good thing I was out of the country for a lot of that summer and not driving myself lol.

Considering the local that is only about $.50 off mainland in most areas and not far off from other mainland areas. Consider eveything has to be shipped to Hawaii...

Looks no different from what I see here in parts of NorCal. The lowest premium I can find in the Sacto area is $4.11, and you can easily see $4.25 in the foothills and mountains. $4.15 is about the average for populated areas.

I'm really really thinking about moving there once my wedding and everything is up. I may have to PM you. Housing is affordable, decent schools, close to the beach, nice weather it's tempting.

this has been a rather cold winter with snow (a extreme rarity). Sales tax on a car purchase is 3% (it is referred to as the highway use tax). It is a one license plate state. If you have tints on the car they charge you an extra $10.00 at inspection time (They are trying to do away with the inspections) Every year after you renew the registration on the car you will receive a annual personal property tax bill- amount depends on the value of the car and what county you live in. Last time( 4/10) I think the amount on my tsx was $110.00. If you live in say Southport you will very close to the South Carolina border and Myrtle Beach. Gas prices in SC are even lower than NC. The water temp at the ocean near us is about 57 and rising. if you want more info I will try to provide it for you.

hmm I paid 3.59 for premium by driving 5 mins to indiana about several days ago.

I went to costco....they were 20 cent cheaper than anyone in the area that day only reason why I stopped there.

Here prices have gone crazy. $7.05 a gallon for hi-test (or as the Japanese have, Dash Racer 2000)...... Yes, that is not a typo.

Exact same as the Bay Area. Considering shipping and where you live, I think you're getting the better end of the deal!
