Hopefully it isn't terrible gas but there is a local gas station that I have to drive like 2 miles further to get to that is selling gas at 4.079 for 93 while everything else is 4.169-4.259. I have filled up twice there now.

Racer
I stopped by the Philly area's ONLY enthanol-free gas station according to http://pure-gas.org/ and filled up. it was only halfway through it when I realized the CONTAINS ETHANOL sign.
Then I went back to the website and realized that they only ethanol free gas in the area is the 94 octane V-Power racing fuel. I didn't ask how much it was or even if it was available though the pump...but would it be worth getting it?
I paid $4.29 for the 93 octane with 10% ethanol. I can only imagine that they're selling the 94 for probably...under $5/gallon...in tanks...would it be worth it?

They are slowly conditioning us.
Theyll raise it 20 cents for a few months, then drop it 10 cents. Rinse and repeat. We get used to it, they keep seeing profits. It wont change.

The thing that kills me is that, I'll bet it doesn't cost more than 2 dollars per barrel more now, to pull out of the ground, than it did back in 1980.

Gas Prices Hit Another All-Time Low in the United States
Posted on February 22, 1999
Gasoline prices in the United States reached an all-time inflation-adjusted
low in February, dropping to less than $1 per gallon nationwide. The average
cost of gasoline for all grades and including taxes reached 99.8 cents per gallon
on February 18 according to the Lundberg Survey of 10,000 gas stations nationwide.
After 18 months of perpetually declining prices, however, gas prices might
soon begin to inch upwards. “The price cutting is faster and deeper than it’s
been so far this year, but it is probably fizzing out,” Trilby Lundberg
told the Associated Press. “Behind the average price fall are a few lonely
no-change (prices) or price hikes here and there, from which I infer that retailers
and their suppliers can’t take it anymore.”
Add increased demand in the spring along with pollution control measures that
will likely add to the cost of gas, and American consumers will likely see an
upward correction over the next few months.
So much for those who 3 years ago were predicting an imminent oil shortage
and massive price hikes.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
I was just on vacation in the UK. Drove my V70, and a fill up was just a shade over 83 GBP.....That's $136 on my AMEX. Jesus, the US should not talk about gas prices until you live in a socialist....Oh, that's coming, just hold on.

V-Power was $3.97 by me Wednesday. Used my Kroger Plus card to get an extra $.10 off so $3.87. Not bad for V-Power. Bad news is the prices went up by $.25 the next day.

Living the Dream
We went to Lowe's foods, spent over $100 and should have gotten 10 cents off (I think), but the pump didn't accept the Lowe's card.
I've been putting 91 in the car pretty much exclusively since I got back from Finland and paying anywhere from $3.69 to $3.99.
A local chain (Sheetz) offers 3 cents off per gallon if you get their card member card.

it's a car-drive it
The wife and I tried this and it didn't work (Hess station). Stupid question, but any tips for this?

US military price: $4.22 a gallon for mid grade
Germany price: $7.87
The US has no complaints at the moment, but agree it doesn't need to be that high (the EU has high prices because more than half is taxes).
