Whatever...didn't know there was a "video only" thread. Looked at all the FOLDERs and noted an "Audio, Video, Electronics & Navigation" folder and that wasn't the place to post a video.

Jason Cammisa's video's are great, the Fiero while great looking at the time was a interesting tale for GM in the early/mid 80's.
I didn't know fender tooling at that time was $7M for a metal fender die stamping vs $50K for the plastic fender injection molds.
There's a decent following of Fiero's today, pretty cheap to acquire and mod. Friend's daughter and son-in-law each have late model project Fiero's with the improved front suspension.

The price and cost to develop the Rune were truly amazing, well worth watching the entire video.

Not sure why Honda did the Rune, but makes for a interesting back story.

Only seen a Rune once, parked outside with some other cruisers. It's impressive in person in size and quality, not for me but still impressive in overall design and engineering.

 

They were trying to cash in on the West Coast Chopper wave. They obviously failed, but it was a cool bike when it came out. My father looked at it but ended up on a VTX1800.

Go to 0:40 to 1:20 to see what little remains of the ripped apart chassis. 3:20 to see where probably the front impact was, 3:40 to where they cover up the fortunately blurred out body of the driver.

 

 

Not that it helped in this case, but at least the driver was in one of the most solidly built cars. As John Wayne once said in one of his westerns, "too much gun".

 

Certainly not as violent as this car lost control, hit the rubber tires and did countless spins. You can see the driver being interviewed with his bloodshot eyes.

 

^ The fact that the roll cage and seat remained in tact and fully functional is amazing. A tribute to the engineers that designed it.

 

Faster than an Urus even on all terrain tires.

That, and given the Hennessey stories/reputation, would steer me away from that one.
Rimac is intersting, but I'm not on the EV bandwagon yet.

 

I'd steer far away from Hennessey. But I'd love to have Christian, Mate, and Gordon in a room to talk about the future of sports/super cars.
