No tires, no wiper fluid and no (some specifically odd suspension part). That's it.

2011 model year. Anyone know why a 2G iPod Nano would not connect to the iDrive system? Not opposed to getting a newer iPod just for the car, but I want to make sure I need to.

I am using the USB connector int he center armrest and nothing happens on the screen for external devices.

Here to admit i've been scouting 335i's lately.

I'm so incredibly bored with my TL-S. Aftermarket for this thing is a joke (my fault for not researching). I thought I could get over FWD but i'm starting to really dislike it (came from a G8 GT). The TL-S is a great car and has done me no wrong but i'm just bored out of my mind with it. It;s fun to drive and decently quick but i think im ready to step up to a 335i with a tune and bolt ons.

Seems like it is not uncommon for a 335 to push 350whp/400wtq with bolt ons and a tune. That nets a 4.5-4.8 0-60. sick.

anyone know what its like to own a certified pre-owned BMW? im happy with how im treated with my CPO acura, just curious how BMW is.

Talk to Scrib, he's got beaucoup miles (over 140K last time I remember) on his 335i and can give you an honest opinion on BMW service. His dealership and owner experiences should ring true for a CPO BMW....

I dont have a CPO 335, but i've been treated fine with the recalls on my 08. I would look for an 08+ for the Idrive updates if your going the nav direction.

With procede/Vishnu tune you should be able to make around 400 hp at the wheels with downpipes/exhaust and an intake. You should be able to run mid 12s with this kind of setup. The Cobb tune is $900, the BMS $480 and Vishnu $650

I had a 06 TL before the current car and it is a HUGE change. The torque difference is amazing.

Scrib has 140k miles on his 335i? Really?

That's a lot of driving.

thanks folks, im waiting to hear back on a new career opportunity before i get too serious about one of these.

i was actually leaning to the coupe 335i until i hit up bimmer forums and saw some modded sedans. Now I'm torn between the two. I know the sedan will be easier to load my kid in and out of but she is forward facing so i dont think it would be a big deal with the coupe. Ive been lurking the bmw forums so ill post there to see about CPO service.

The old ipod (BMW oem) cable works on the old iPod nano iirc. Get a new nano

Logically, you'd think that would make sense. But then they couldn't charge you $200 for a $2 cable

It's only $70, but I paid for the iPod integration thing so I am pretty sure it was supposed to be included.

I'm pretty sure you don't need BMW's cable if you have a September 2010 production or later.

Anyone have experience with E36 M3s? I was curious on whether I should put this on my short list of cars under $10K.

All I can say is the usual: Get an OBD2 ('96 or newer IIRC), check on the VANOS, and the usual stuff (timing, water pump, etc). That's what I've seen mentioned. Some folks might have other things to add.

Dealership said the same thing, tested it with a known good cable and it did not work, so they just gave me a cable.

Not sur eif it's that the nano is older or that the head unit in the car was produced before 9/10 despite the car being made in January. Dunno, don't really care.

Ipod does a few weird things when connected but overall I am happy.

Have a dilemma

My 08 335 is on its last year of warranty. Now I know I can extend it to 7yr/100k for I think 4500-4800 as it has iDrive and its an XI which I think categorizes as a level C Car?

Now I'm thinking holy shit over $4,000!!!thats alot for 3 more years of warranty.

Is it worth it or should I roll that 4k, trade to a newer model like a 2010 so I have 3 years left and the service warranty, or maybe find a CPO. I'm even considering an M3.

My problem is it took me a while to find a fully loaded manual/red interior 335. I don't care about the AWD to be honest, I've got a winter beater.

Extend the warranty vs. newer model and extending payments.

And I never posted pics so here.

I guess it depends ... You like the car and you know the condition it's in ... If you don't think you'll keep it for more than three years then maybe consider leasing the next one?

Not a chance in hell I'd buy the extended warranty for $4,000+. If you want to keep the car, save the $4K and spend whatever of that money on repairs if they are needed. Something would have to go catastrophically wrong for the car to need $4K in service done. It's a pretty new car still.

Just doesn't seem worth it at that price. Also, if you get the sudden itch for something else, you won't feel so obligated to keep your current 335 and will have money to put towards a new car.

Sure its 4k?! Thats more than the M3 warranty.

Or is that warranty and extended maintenance warranty?

Thoughts?

Thinking of dumping the HRE P40s and ordering these Works.

Thing is they are 2peice but cast. But WORK casting process is pretty damn good, right?

VS

Current HRE P40

I like those Works, but I don't love them. At any rate they're better than the P40s I've never liked those wheels and still don't. It's gotta have some sort of lip (step-lips, even better) or concavity (the more the better)

The thing about those Works is they look a little generic. I like the step lip, but the face design looks like any other mesh wheel out there.

I always wanted a step lip with mesh design, its a style that i never have gotten tired of. Just most of the common ones were BBS LMR or LMs. Which i really cant see myself spending that much money on wheels anymore.

These Works just came out for 2011 and the price is MUCH cheaper than anything else i can think of. Only downside is it will take a LONG time to get made and shipped to the states. Blah.
