Yeah, considering they have been out for two model years. Go to the B8 A5/S5 forum. Couple guys just picked up 2010 S5s.

I would love to have one but they are about 2x anything I could afford.

The S5 Cab already has the 3.0T for MY2010 in Europe. I don't know what Audi's plans are with the 4.2 FSI though. I think it makes sense to put the 3.0T in the S5 and then use the 4.2 FSI for the RS5.

We'll see.

Autoblog was reporting that the S5 coupe might stay with the 4.2 V8 while the S5 cab will get the 3.0T still.

Well the vert already has it. Why they'd have the coupe with the v8 and the 3.0T in the vert and call them both S5s is beyond me. Seems like it just complicates production.

R32
FX35

Or do I go cheap like a 2005 Mazda3 (I hate FWD though) that I can pay off in two years and then go get something I'd really want like an A5? I'd be able to cart the dogs in the Mazda (I've had one before) and keep the A5 pristine.

I didn't start a new thread but maybe I should.

I will say this, I drive my RS4 everyday but I wouldn't have a problem driving the FX35 if I ever had to sell the RS4. I would say go to your local Infiniti dealer and just test drive one!

I know I've said this in several threads now, but I love, love, love my FX35.

Minor Update: Exhaust, Boost Gauge, Rings...

Since I last posted pictures I have:

- Removed grey filler plate for a black license filler plate.
- Podi Boost Gauge
- Custom 2.5'' - 3'' Exhaust, Magnaflow mid and rear mufflers.
- Put back the trunk rings except they are now plasti-dip black.

Next up would be 19'' VMR 710's (GM) with coilovers and TINT!

Well hopefully I can post pic here before the end of the year. I just ordered a 2010 A4 2.0T Quattro w/ Prestige, S-Line and Driver Assist packages. Deep Sea Blue Pearl Effect w/ black interiors.

That means I need to find a good set of A/S or Winter 19" tires, because the Summers that come with the S-line package will probably not be a good idea to keep on when I get the car.

I just signed the papers today... need to wait for a real date, but the sales rep said probably sometime in December.

^ Sly, what do you think of the RS4 grill on your avant?

BTW, how are you liking the reflash now that you've had it for a bit?

I think the hexagon pattern looks cool, but I'd only do it if I could match my lower fog grilles as well.

As for the chip, I love it! I regret not doing it sooner. Haven't had any problems with it. Power delivery is very smooth.

Which one did you get? I had APR 91, and it was great.

I've got the APR reflash, stock, 91, 93, and valet. It's unfortunate we don't have 93 octane in california. I'd be at 290lb-ft of torque.

Yea, I got in on their fully loaded reflash sale and took the 93 in hopes that sometime I'm driving through some state that has it, I can enjoy it for a little bit. Until then, i'm happy with the 91 tune. And after I get exhaust and the intercooler done, it'll be a little nicer.

The A4 and A3 are very reliable. They are now just as reliable as an Acura in all honesty. The problem is that the repair costs are higher than Acura's. You gotta pay to play. There is only one major problem that hampered earlier versions of the B7 platform and that was premature cam lobe wear, which was fixed and dealers have been taking care of those that have been affected by it. It was no different than a TSB being made from any other manufacturer. The B8 is using the next gen version of the 2.0T motor which was already solid to begin with. It's used in so many cars, golf, gti, jetta, passat, CC, Tiguan, Eos, A3, and A4.

The A6 and A8 are still coming up to par in terms of reliability, but when you look at the entire model lineup, they are no where near the level of unreliability they were back in 2002 and FAR from where they were in the 90's.

The stigma that Audi suffers from are that people are unwilling to re-evaluate newer models to see how they have improved. Yet, when people look at Acura's and Honda, they put them on a pedestal even though they have been just as, if not MORE unreliable than Audi's have, especially when you look at the transmission problems Honda has had. The last generation A4 wasn't all that unreliable. Other than electrical problems and blown coil packs, the motor was sound.

As for costs, like I said earlier, it's a German car, gotta pay to play. Maintaining the car does cost more, but it's they are also aren't as mass produced as Acura's and Honda's are although in Europe, Audi's are outselling merc and bmw.

If you want some real world world reliability stats, check out:
