The Official Audi Discussion Thread

There isn't really an Audi thread, and since I opted to go with an A4 over a 3 series, here goes this thread. Sly and 2001audis4, post some pictures of your Audi's!

Mine is a 2008 A4 2.0T 6MT Quattro, Phantom Black, purchased privately with 21,500 miles!

So far I've done
APR 91/93
APR Snub Mount
VMR Test Pipe
Neuspeed Short Shifter
ECS Smoked Side Markers
DTM Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler
Deval Carbon Fiber Front Splitter (Not installed yet, received today!)

Still many things to come:
Exhaust
Boost Gauge
Wheels
Coilovers
RS4 Blacked Out Grill/Blacked Out Stock Grill
Blacked and Cleared Headlights
Tint
Intercooler
I'm sure I missed some things...

And a FULL detail!

Pictures:

Comments questions? Hope you enjoy the photos...

Ho-Lee-Swirl-Marks.

Looks like you missed a.....erm, "spot" with that 'full detail'....or at least appears to be.

Check the 2nd pic.
C Pillar, QP, and around the door handle.

I could be wrong.

Nice. We had a similar A4 (2006) and loved it.

Unofficial Audi thread!!!

I need to take some new pics of my car after I get it nicely cleaned and learn to use my camera a little bit better. But I'll try to post some up soon. In the meanwhile, here's a link to the thread that started the decision process and the purchase of our A4 Avant with some pics towards the end of the thread of when we took delivery:Here's a question for you, what do you think of the APR snub mount? How long have you had it on? I ask because I wanna know if anyone has experienced issues like cracking with any of the manufacturers that make the aftermarket snub mounts.

^ Yeah. I test drove a lot of cars and couldn't decide on what to get. Ultimately I wanted turbo and AWD, almost got a 2009 WRX, but those come with no luxury, just speed. So far my A4 is plenty quick.

What intercooler are you thinking about running?

You should check this out:

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233495

That is exactly what I want to do if/when I get the A.W.E. Intercooler for my A4.

A nicely equipped 2.0T is a lot of fun. Many people don't realize just how detuned those motors are. For some reason there's also this stigma that 4 cylinders equates to cheap and non-sporty. How uninformed they are.

I wouldn't say there was a drastic notice after it was installed. I felt it was firmer launching, shifting, not as much 'play'. It's been for about a week, and so far no cracking, which I would hope it wouldn't crack this soon.

I like both the AWE and APR's intercooler. Although APR's isn't out yet, I'd go with them since my local Audi shop is an APR dealer, plus they have great customer service.

I was surprised when I found out what tuning could do to these motors!

Even in stock form, the 2.0T in the A4 is a lot of fun. In an A3 is even more fun. That engine with even some basic tuning is a flat out blast.

Having fun and getting great gas mileage (my wife's A4 would typically return 34mpg or more per tank) is just like having your cake and eating it too...

In case you haven't heard...

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=221076
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257816

I just thought I'd share in case you ever plan on getting a BT kit. This kit is tested to work well with their own intercooler and exhaust.

It's putting out some decent numbers so far even though it's still in development:

The A.W.E. Tuning GT Turbo kit power results, as corrected to the crank:

305hp / 295tq on 91 octane with stock intercoolers in place

340hp / 295tq on 91 octane with optional A.W.E. Tuning Front Mounted Intercooler (FMIC) in place

335hp / 310tq on 93 octane with stock intercoolers in place

377hp / 317tq on 93 octane with optional A.W.E. Tuning Front Mounted Intercooler (FMIC) in place

Initial release of the A.W.E. Tuning GT Turbo kit will be for manual transmission equipped 2005.5-08 Audi A4 2.0T vehicles. A free flow exhaust system is required for safe operation.

MSRP: $5995. Stay tuned for a Launch Alert announcing a limited time discounted price.
It's too bad we don't get 93 octane in california.

^ I try to avoid those threads.

For now the basic bolt ons will suffice. I want to focus on appearance just as much as power...

Don't forget functionality! Wait till you see one of the mods I did 2 weeks ago. You'll laugh, but it's still cool.

Guys, I just bought an '07 Audi A6, and traded in my '03 accord coupe for it! Its a nice fun car for my mom to drive. Its boooosted steering, and cushy ride, is perfect for a woman her age to drive in. I just have one small problem. My car came navi equipped, however its missing the nav unit in the trunk. I need that, a harness, and a cd, to be in buisness. Anyone know how I can get my hands on those things, without going through the stealership?

genuineaudiparts.com

there's also some oem and aftermarket stuff listed at ecstuning.com, although I don't know if they'll have the nav stuff.

Need help choosing wheels, here are some of my favorites...

What do you guys think?

All sizes would be 19x8.5 running a 245/35/19...

Linea Corse Dyna:

Linea Corse Lemans:

Linea Corse L22's

Thought about RS4 replicas, but I see too many people with them...

These are some of the wheels I'm seriously considering...

To be honest I'm not a fan of any of those wheels.

If I had to choose between them, I'd pick the Linea Corse Lemans.

Yeah, i know they're a bit played out on the forums, but where I live I haven't seen anyone else with them on their B7's. But thanks!

Two quick questions to the Audi faithful:

1. Oil changes. The dealer charges an arm and a leg, for my '07 A6, so I went to merlin, and they didn't have the tools to open the drain plug. Where do you guys go for oil changes? I also intend to put in good old 5w30.

2. Cabin air filter. I love to do these myself, but I didn't have the tool to unscrew the box. What type of tool does it take. it looks like a pentagon shaped screw head. I want to buy it at the home depo!
