Please let us know how you feel about the car after the test drive, you will be blown away I'm sure. The Navi in the Audi is nice, its clean and precise, and easy to "navigate". What year are your TL's?

Thanks guy,

We actually stopped by yesterday for an closer inspection of the Audi A4 and was thoroughly impressed. I couldn't believe how ignorant I had become over the years as I often bashed Euro style ergonomics I feel like the biggest hypocrite I walked in expecting boring interiors an walked out an Audi fan boy. As stated, the Navi is very easy to navigate, easier than my current TL. Again, I was very impressed by how "clean and precise, and easy it was to "navigate" the screens as stated. The mate finally settled on the Audi A4 performance edition? As for me, the S5 is poised to be the replacement We scheduled a test drive for both next week, it ought to be great!
TL's: 2004 w/ Nav and 2005 Base

Thanks again

Before I bought my 06 RL I had the 05 TL, I only kept the TL for about 9 months, that should tell you how I felt about the car back then. I had several issues with it, so I decided to cut my losses and moved on to the RL. The RL was a superb car, I had the Aspec Suspension and Rims and it was a real joy to drive and the interior was just awesome. My only complaint was the engine, it was to slow off the start, part of that is due to the SH-AWD. Driving the S4 for the last few weeks has been exciting, it has the power I was missing for so long, but the interior is much smaller, kinda like the TL. Hope you find what you are looking for, the S5 is a good place to start the search

Interesting, I was seriously considering the RL as well. But It seemed there was more bang for the buck in the Audi brand. Though it may seem minor, i was disappointed to see that the RL Navi screen is the same from 10 years ago. Many brands have adopted the HD screens and it does make all of the difference. The TL's have been great except for the recent cracked dash issue in both cars. This was a bit to much for me. Considering you have a S4, what made you pass on the 5? (Dealer didn't have a S4 on the Lot.)

I picked up the RL in 2006, at the time the Navi was still up to date, I get what you are saying though, the newer models, not so much. The all new 2013 RL is supposed to change all that, we shall see. I like my cars to have four doors, its much more convenient, so the S4 was the natural choice. As for your dealer, if you are serious about the car, he can get a S4 in a snap, the inventory is high in the US right now, a great time to buy !

Sales guy didn't mentioned that, I assumed the S's were all coupes. I do favor 4-door and from what I read, your S4 still clocks 4.9 0-60, the same as the V8?!

Your sales guy needs to learn his job better, get on him! The S5 is the only one that still has the V8, this however it's the last year, from what I am told. The S4 has a V6, it is a Supercharged engine, or Turbo, depending on who you talk to. The car does 0-60 in 4.9 secs, but it doesn't guzzle as much gas. You need to test drive the car to know that you don't need a V8, this engine is great! If you prefer the four door, you need to let them know that is what you want, they can get it for you, so don't take no for an answer. If they make a fuss, tell them there are other Audi dealers, if they don't want your business

Edit: the S6 may still have the V8 as well, but the price tag is about 20k more.

The flashes are a great investment when it comes to dollar per hp. But they certainly do raise the chances of getting into mischief.

Last night I got the you know what scared out of me, so let me tel you why. I was on the freeway with my wife, I of course was showing off and I gunned it from 60 to about 80ish when I hear a really loud beep ! It is a speed warning, WTH ? I didn't know anything about this, so hence my reaction. I need to figure out how to turn that off ASAP! So as you can see I am getting into enough mischief on my own, I don't need no stinking flash to help me out!

Does it hit at 80 ? Can you turn it off ? I know I can do a Vagcom and probably do it there, if needed.

I don't recall if the speed warning was preset on our B7, but we can enable and disable it via one of the menu stalks and choose at what speed it should beep at. My suggestion, read the owner's manual.

I didn't read the owners manual either. I sat in the car and went through all the menu's to figure things out. I really should read through the entire manual.

As an Admin it is your job to read every manual for every car and know them by heart, didn't you know ?

Press the button on the underside of the wiper stalk until you reach a menu with "Set", "Check", and "Cancel". Select "Set" and scroll down -- one of the options should read "Speed Warning".

Forgot where to change that. I think its under one of the setup menus on navi screen.

I set my fiance's to 140 and forgot about it.

I can't believe you guys didn't read the manual. I might be the minority one here who actually read the manual....well, at least skimmed through the sections where it talks about features. Since these cars have many more little features than my previous Hondas and Acuras, I gotta get myself familiarized with these.

plastikman, the speed warning can be turned off. It's in the MMI. Go to the "Car" menu, then scroll down. You'll see a selection for the speed warning.

And Sly, I don't know what options you have in your beautiful B7 Avant, but I had the speed warning too in my B7 A4.

My '05 S4 had it as well. What freaked me out the first time was the "you should take a break you've been driving for two hours" chime. I had to pull over and check the manual. I thought something broke. LOL

Drove fiancee's A4 Avant to class this morning. It's so very boring to drive compare to my car.

It needs a reflash..

get it done already! Just wait for their next 'all for one price' sale. They give you four tunes, security lockout, throttle body adaptation/fault-code erase and anti-theft for around $600. Best investment for an Audi/VW in terms of amount of power you get vs. the dollars spent.

Sucks we don't get 93 octane, otherwise the 93 tune would be a little more fun than the 91.

Yeah, I'm planning to get it done when that sale comes back. I won't even tell my fiancee. She won't notice it.

And I hear you on the 93 octane.. It would help me to add a little more timing on my car.. It's too bad that we get the crappiest gas in the world.

Scheduling permitting, I'll finally be getting the windows tinted on the Avant.

50% Llumar Ceramic all around with Air 80 on the windshield.

Got in on an awesome group buy so the Integra and wife's car will be tinted as well.
