My Visit to The Lexus Dealership...

I was sitting at work today planning on getting my car inspected. I called a couple of auto shops in San Antonio and I came to a brilliant relization! Car inspections are price regulated by the state of Texas! Hmmmm, so I should in theory be able to take my 2000 Civic anywhere that does inspections and it will be the same price. So yup, I decided to go to the LEXUS dealership! I am sitting in the waiting area right now typing on my laptop (using their wifi), sipping on a free cool drink (courtesy of them), and snacking on popcorn (once again courtesy of them)!

When I first pulled in the tech advisor that was sitting in a small glass office didn't want to deal with me after I showed hm my car. He lead me to another service tech without his own office (guess he was lower on the totem pole) and told me to wait until he gets off the phone because he is the guy that deals with non lexus owners! I patiently waited and another gentalman, obviously a manager of some sort asked if I had been helped. I said I was waiting on the tech to get off the phone and that I wanted a state inspection and the other tech said I had to use this guy. He was upset and marched over to another availalble tech and had me point out the tech that told me the wrong info hehehe.

Well, they are now done with my car, so I am gone!!!!!

Downers Grove, IL dealership has all these things. They even have a game room for kids, plasma screens everywhere, THEY EVEN ASKED ME IF I WOULD LIKE MY SHOES SHINED (no joke).

I've had an incredible experience at acura, much better than with Lexus with my previous vehicle...

Guess it depends on where you live...

I also go to a dealership with all those things....leather seats, big tv, Starbucks coffee for free, free soda & snacks, and internet. Haven't had a problem yet with the service department at Precision Acura in Princeton, NJ. Didn't even buy my car there and I get free loaner TSXs.

Nice story. I wouldn't have the balls to bring a Civic to a Lexus dealership.

So's mine here in Cleveland (Motorcars). It has:

Free wifi
Free drinks (soda/pop, water, coffee)
Kiosks with phones and desks
Soft cushy sofas
Enterprise car rental desk for days when there's no TL or TSX loaners

Acura should really police its dealerships, I'm VERY happy with mine and wish all of them had such amenities.

damn, I wish we had a dealer like that. BTW, all it takes is for one prick to have a bad day and take it out on a customer, dealerships can't be based on some mucked up individual.

dunno bout lexus but i love my local acura dealer. theres two structures and lots, (Lewis Acura, Audi, VW) so acura has its own service and parts and sales areas, and then audi and vw have their own. the acura side has been honored locally for its customer service. they have all the amenities every one has mentioned (no plasma screens tho, just normal tv)...plus my favorite part...a few really nice framed Comptech/Real Time racing pics of their racing integras n stuff . but yea service is great, they even DONT wash my car when i ASK them not too, most places would blow that kinda request off but they made sure not to wash my car, cuz i hate it when they use those nasty brushes to wash my car.

when i call to ask questions or schedule an appointment the service manager either recognizes who i am over the phone right away or as soon as i say my first name i get "oh yeah sam, with the '03 CL-S, hows it goin?" these types of things make all the difference in customer service.

I dunno, the Benz dealership where my parents have their E and S serviced has a chef come in the mornings to cook omlets for customers. There's also a massage therapist on staff. It's the greatest thing ever...

man fuck acura (the one my mom goes to) all they have is a limited number of muffins, and a coffee machine. THATS IT. Oh and a shitty vending machine. So much for buying luxury.

Growing up in a car obsessed family, i've been to a few dealerships in my day. Lexus was always the best, but i'm pretty pleased with the new plasma screens at my acura dealership. I came in for service recently and thought i was in a different place. Woo!

Both Park Ave Acura in NJ (when I lived in NY) and Rick Hendrick Acura in Charlotte (now) have all of these things... (although Rick Henrick has a minimal number of leather seats).

You do.. Park Ave Acura.

I bought my car at Curry Acura, but took it to Park Ave for every single service...

This thread kicked ass. You took a Civic to a Lexus dealership, got serviced but spent like half of what the cheapest Lex went for, plundered their resources, and even got a stealership employee busted. I kind of wish we had state inspections since there's a brand new Lex dealer down the street from me.

I guess it's normal. Supposedly, you could walk into any Lexus dealership and request a free carfax on any used Lexus you're after, even if it's not from that particular dealer.
