Hey, I was just reading through this thread.

Just letting you (OP) know that I bought my used 05 TL from that same BMW dealership and they were great. I test drove the car, and bought it. I was out in half an hour. If you decide to get an M3, you should definitely check out their dealership. I can vouch for them.

I never said it was sensible...I was just responding to pebe's remark that its a cultural thing,its a stereotype that most of the families and younger generation in the area have nice cars that they cant afford.

I was just pointing out that a large % of the young kids driving those cars have a solid education with 1st and 2nd degrees and good jobs. Don't get me wrong though, there is still a large number that cant afford what there driving but to each there own.

M3's are not a rare car in NY so I honestly don't think he's buying it to make anyone happy but himself, at least I hope so. For those that are suggesting he invest in real estate....50k is not a big enough DP for any decent house NY. OP would be looking at minimum 125k to get a decent property and a manageable mortgage, anyone living in NY can vouch for that.

yeah man, i cant even get a loan that big cuz i have no history of installment payments, so having this car with the loan , will also help me build some credit and later on ill be able to get a mortgage

600k will get you a crappy house if not that, i saw a empty lot with a busted abandon hut and there was asking for 475k

^when i saw it i was expecting it would cost like 250 k the most and i would try to get a new construction load and build a new house for like about 300k but its wudnt be worth it to buy the lot for 475 and build a new house

Not one person in this thread is hating on Dave. We were simply amazed at how he went about buying this car. First he was gullible enough to get scammed and lost $1500. I don't care what that email says, he will not see a penny of that money, its long gone. And even after several people said it was a scam, he STILL denied it and wanted to send other members to do his scouting for him. At least $1500 was not too bad, he could have lost alot more.

I stand by my remarks. Most kids driving around in the luxury cars are spoiled by their parents. These kids are barely out of high school. I've seen accidents where young kids run into somebody and have to have their parents come to the scene because it's not their car to begin with.

But, what does it all matter. I mean, he's only gonna keep it a year

Furthermore, OP has only been driving for 2 years and wants an M3. V8 with 400+HP can you say accidents!!!?
- put a HOT, open flame grill into a $100 tent, can't even fathom what he'll do to a $60K car.
- Got into an accident, did not call police - he got stuck paying the repairs...
- Got Bamboozled out of $1500 for a down payment on an M3.
- Works two jobs, in order to keep the same lifestyle plus M3.
- Says you only turn 21 once, by that logic, every birthday would constitute buying expensive ass things....
Some of the stuff he says just doesn't make any sense at all....
there are a lot of holes in most of his stories, If he says he bought the car then congratulations to him...


But, what does it all matter. I mean, he's only gonna keep it three years
