I just dont like the color extending all the way on the dash. Looks overkill.
Now if they gave me a choice to have it in black leather but keep my seats bamboo, then i would be all over it.
Guess i just like my dash and carpet to be black only. I wouldnt even had gotten bamboo if the carpet was beige.

Plus, I thought it would drive me crazy to have a mostly red interior, but it doesn't... I am really happy when I get to park my car somewhere and when I open the door... its like bam! While my Acura, says... meh...

I can wait another month for a car but an extra $5000 for paint? Though I can see why someone would, since most of those colors look beautiful.
I really like that Atlantis Metallic though, remember seeing it in a thread on here somewhere.

but i think you can get the same paint job at a good local body shop with OEM BMW Paints for half of that
5 k is still too much just for the paint

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
LOL...that is a really funny suggestion!!!
My best friend who lives in southern Cali called me a couple months ago to say he had been accepted to medical school in Michigan and he wanted a good car to make it through the winters up there..sooooooooooo... My brother who is an ER doc drove a Subaru during his residency in Chi Town (and still does 200+k miles later)... so what did my smart friend do after I talked with him and we looked at the numbers and options... he bought a Subaru...

I would suggest it, but I would be called a fanboy
The thing is, there are quite a few CPO M3's in the USA, and just searching country wide for one that would keep $10K in the pocket is worth the trouble. If I was in the market for one, that is what I would do. Or go 911 CPO.
Oh, Dave: the $49K price for an M3 also applies to tourist and diplomat sales. But it is the sales tax upon registration that will take that money back and then some. So if you could save a few $$$, you'll be able to buy "extras" and real maintenance items without having to take out another loan.

sooooo....
when are you buying this thing?? Have you taken a test drive in an M3?
When I bought my '07 TL-S, it was an impulse. I was test driving cars for fun and simply fell in love with it. 3 years later, I STILL love it more than any other car I've driven. ('10 mustang gt, '10 g37, '09 bmw 335i coupe, etc.)
Obviously I know this is personal opinion, but my point remains... HAVE YOU DRIVEN THIS THING?
I'm sure it's awesome, but I don't believe you've mentioned a behind-the-wheel experience on any of your posts (i may have missed it, but I don't think so).

Outnumbered at home
Best of luck sir. Sounds like me when I bought my CL-S when I graduated college. Could I afford it, yup, should I have bought it... nope. I would so much rather have that money back so i could have had more to put down on my house, on my kids, on my next car, etc.
Saving since 16 so you deserve it...snort? Do you have a home, savings for a downpayment, still living with mom and dad?
Awesome car, enjoy it, but I would bet in 5 years you are going to look back at this decision as one of the worst you have made.

You will never find a place that can paint the car to OEM standards for $5k. They would have to strip the whole car, take the engine out and then spray the car to get anywhere close to it. $5k is a bargain for the quality you get.
You should totally do it. Just think how rare your car would be and all the attention you would get.

Sure, if it's a car that's already on the road and it's wanting a complete paint job, I can understand why it would cost more.
But when it's ordered new like that, paint is going to have to be applied to the body anyways. I'm not saying they can't or shouldn't charge extra for a 'premium' color...but 5K?

Dave i dont know if you already found a dealer (long thread to read the whole story lol) so i dont know if this will do any help; Laurel BMW at WEstmont have M3 in stock:

Only thing I think is stupid about it though is that they're charging $5K for it from the get go.

there are TONS of fun cars below $30k world. try to enjoy the little things first then go up the ladder slowly.
i read the entire thread last night and it's fking ridiculous. it doesn't matter how much money you've saved by doing whatever jobs you've been involved with.

Agreed, however, don't even bother trying. This isn't the first thread he's started with similar content that has gone in this direction.
If he really has what he says he has he needs a financial planner and needs to get off of internet forums ASAP.
