All my father's friends had badass rides (57 Belair bracket rod, Corvette Stingray, Fastback Mustangs, etc), always hit up Hot August Nights with them. My father drove a early 80's Toyota SR5 pickup, 4WD (not cool at the time, especially when he'd make me turn the axle locks in the middle of freeze on some logging road up the mountain). Almost 400k miles before it was stolen and chopped in San Diego. They found it during a murder investigation (chop shop owner killed another guy in a poker game), but not worthy of salvaging.

Coolest ride my pops had was before my time.. He had a cherry austin healy, but freaking hated it. He sold it after a year. Regrets doing so seeing how it could have fetched 40k. Also had a road runner for 10 seconds.. beep beep.
Best one was a 63 Impala, candy paint purple, hydraulics with 6 switches and 100 spoke wire wheels. Some old lady sold it to him for dirt cheap. It was stolen and pimped out, then recovered. Old lady was like.. wtf is this shit.

I spin the rears and get sideways almost every time I take her out. I have my favorite turns and stoplights. I also find myself stopping or slowing to a 10 mph crawl in the middle of straight empty country roads whenever the opportunity presents itself..
I was telling J, I took my coworkers out for lunch last week. I don't think they want me to drive anymore. I only got on it once too (turning into traffic, small window to cut in, angry powerslide). Guy in the back exclaimed he felt like he was in high school (mid 50's).
I have way too much fun in her. But I figure I better make the miles count. The F1's have been a solid tire so far. Great in all conditions, but I'm definitely not sleeping on them. I took her out yesterday in another big downpour. She was compliant as can be (30 miles round trip in the slick), although I did feel her push a bit on some swooping highway turns (off throttle, no blinking traction light, could just feel the tires at the edge).

Unfortunately I will not be at C&C until February at the earliest. Have a racing double-header November 7th and 8th, season finale December 5th, and not sure if I'll be here for Jan.

That would be pretty sweet. He did own an Oldsmobile Woody Wagon and a Datsun. Not a good Datsun though.

@DatsunPops owned a 81 Prelude.. I can relate.
It actually might be kinda cool now to restomod it.. but it was one of the ugliest cars on the road at the time. It had cool vents, red interior, silver.. it was cool in theory, but when it all came together..

Wow I do think that would be cool to do a restomod on.
The funniest part about the Datsun is my dad is 6'4" so he had to have the seat the entire way back and reclined a lot to even fit in it. I still to this day don't understand why he got it. It was before I was born though.

My Dad had an delta 88 he nicknamed the bluesmobile...it was banged up, but there was something "cool" about it...he'd drop us at school listening to joe satriani or something...bangin on the steering wheel with his drum sticks (his version of texting and driving to keep from getting bored...)

My father, who just showed up in the Sublime Scat Pack Chally, had an '82 Mustang GT he bought new. When I was in high school he started modding it heavily. He started with a dual exhaust from an '88 notchback and went all the way to rebuilding the 5.0 with worked 351 Windsor heads, dual quad carbs, mild cam and headers. The thing was a beast although I don't think I ever witnessed him drive it faster than the speed limit. Not long after finally finishing the build he listed it for sale and sold it. I was shocked he'd do such a thing after all that time and effort. Years later he bought a 2005 Pontiac GTO. Ran 87 octane in it and once again never ever even goosed the damn thing. I'll never get his reasoning for having fast cars that he never truly enjoys. That's why I don't think the Scat Pack will be around very long. He'll likely sell it because he doesn't use it enough or something might need a repair and he won't want to deal with it.

Well, I wasted a little time. Both were used so I just scooped them up when I found them b/c I got good deals. I'll likely do the TB and the intake together this winter. Really all i want after this (for now) is exhaust, front splitter, then will get wheels when I need new tires (likely later next year). So it's starting to come together

I might be considering changing exhausts again now so the Corsa might be available this spring if I can find a good deal on the money pit of an exhaust I want.
Also I am going to head to Cars & Coffee at Waterbean coffee in Cornelius this Saturday if you are interested. If you go I will bring the wagon otherwise I might break the TSX out. Would be cool to have two wagons though.

I would imagine it might be larger than normal though since the other one has not found a new home yet. It says it is 8-11 but I will probably only go from like 8 or 830 till around 10 at most.

The Airaid (looks like part of one anyway) takes only 30 minutes to install once you put the box together, JB.

As for the Mamo TB, no, not planning a tune. It's just the LSA ported unit and from what I've read (and per the previous owner), no tune required for that one...

I need to take a ride in a stock V. My car already has the pulley upgrade so that is the only thing I know as stock.

If you do the smallest size pulley upgrade you don't need a tune or injectors even.

The V is already tuned conservatively. I think a 2.55" with a tune is perfect step up. They have these tunes pretty much dialed in, one dyno test to check AFR and any KR, adjust as needed. But for many of the popular tunes on this pulley, not much adjustment needed.

There are so many tunes available. Some of the commercial ones are kit based, so it's an email tune. Some of these shops even send you software and hw to do your own tune. The current tune as I said is very conservative, boost isn't linear, it's dynamic based on certain inputs.

i think my next car, if it's FI...I'd like something with an easy platform like that. that was a big downside to getting the throttle cable 2004 S2000...I can't run an easy hondata tune on it like with the 2006 and up.

It's a GM LSx baby.. 
Check the CTSVOwners mod list thread and you'll see the mods + tune they have.
There are a several upper pulley 2.5/2.55 with tune upgrades running mid to low 11s.. nucking futs.

I want to do a tune and even higher boost pulley but then gas mileage goes down even more. Not sure I can take that
