I found a 2017 Championship White CTR with 400 miles on it in Pasadena. It belongs to my buddys buddy. He bought it two years ago and put 400 miles on it...

He's willing to sell for 2017 sticker price which is like 34500 or something. I think I'll go for this one.
There's 2019s for sticker in other color in other states but with two kids and busy business, time is money for me.
Selling the Jaguar next week, so gonna get that done first and sort out the CTR deal soon. Too excited!
so the same price for the 2017 and 2019? Come on dude... 400 miles or not, it is 2 years older... go get the new one... Just pay a little bit more to have it shipped to you.... all can be done via email and you dont even have to put on your clothes

The 2017 one, I can get it for 34500+tax and title (the seller can write the $ lower for me
)
The 2019 new one is actually $2k higher and tax, title dealer fee all would add up and be like $5-6k more than the 17 one.
Both are basically the same valued in used car market. CTR is such a weird car.

And I miss driving a manual car so much. The Jag is very nice for what it is but there's zero aftermarket support.
The CTR is like the only manual hatchback that I really love.
But I get your proposition.
If you can get a car at sticker, then it's worth it to be the first one to fart in the seat.

400 mile is basically new with no major refreshes or upgrades between the years. He can get this one at sticker.
A new one would be $5 to 7K more. That's a lot of money to claim farting rights and there's a good chance his buddy's
buddy never even ate beans and drove it with such low miles.
Jin is a guy you don't have to talk into making the sensible or financially correct move, that much I've ascertained.

But yes, that's always an option. I checked and it's only $1k to ship the car from east coast to LA.

And yeah, CTR market is crazy. Carmax would give people close to MSRP for CTR with miles stacked on it. It's crazy. Only car to not depreciate driving out of the dealer lot.
My friend has 2018 CTR with 5k miles, it's about a year old. Carvana (like Carmax but online based) offered him $35500 which is like a little more than 2018 MSRP.
The car holds value like nothing else.
I had a CTR for about 3 days when my buddy let me use it to test it out. The car is actually very comfortable in normal mode and it gets 30 mpg haha
And I miss driving a manual car so much. The Jag is very nice for what it is but there's zero aftermarket support.

I still have a week and half to think about! Will think it over. I would pay extra for a new one if it had any upgrades but really there's nothing. Would rather spend $5k for aftermarket parts haha

When all the hype and stuff dies down, The resale value of MY17 will be worth less than My19... by how much? maybe $5k 4-5 years down the road...
It will only cost you a few hundred to ship...
Or find a broker and ask him to find a car for you at MSRP and arrange shipping and all that... you might end up only pay a little more than the MY17.

You tried Vegas? other states within reasonable driving distance? AZ, NV?

MY19 msrp is $2500 more than MY17 to begin with. So it definitely will add up.
Vegas might be awesome though. I can just fly out and drive back or something.
I was just in Vegas and the amount of kids was staggering... 11:30 at night, strollers and kids everywhere on the strip. In the morning on the casino floors, kids everywhere.
Just gotta be patient and I'm sure the right deal will come up. One thing I've learned in my very short car buying career (absolute novice compared to @rockstar143 ) is that if you are patient and doesn't rush, the right deal will come along.
I think it may not be long before we see JS + CTR !!
@Mizouse can chime in much more, but in my times been to Vegas, I think it's alot more family friendly than most people would imagine it to be. Tons of shows/activities/shopping/nearby locales/stuff that are very PG-13. And honestly all that other stuff....you might as well expose the young ones to them early and get a early reign on it under your supervision....
Definitely a lot more family friendly than people think. I
wouldn’t really know too much since I don’t have a family and not anywhere close to having one
but check out the Vegas thread.

When i visited these places, i think we were the only couple who were there without kids

Sold my Jag last week. Got the check from Vroom today.
My wife and kids are leaving to Korea for 3 months so I decided to just keep the money and see what happens after wifey comes back. She hates CTR by the way
Might go family friendly and get a GX460 and make it a offroading+camping car and get a used 86 and make it a track car. Might cost about the same as getting a new CTR. hahaha
Upgrading to a new house next April, so will see how things pan out. But yes, I'm pretty excited with the profit I made from leasing this Jag for 6 months.

They do, which is probably what he's gonna be driving. The Ayerton S(i)enna That is.
CTR is a banger...and I love it for what it is...seen it in person and it's grown on me...
shit, there were literally 27 of them under one roof at the last Acura Honda Classic Meet...
I can only imagine how great they drive.
Sitting on the money is probably the right move...
Wifey not being on board is a BIG no go unless this was a go fuck yourself dream car purchase.

But my friend let me borrow his boosted 86 for 3 months. He just want me to do his steering wheel in leather so it's a good deal.
Yes. I got quotes from both. Carvana doesn't nego, so I told Vroom to beat Carvana and they did.

I'd have a hard time saying no to $7k. Is selling to Carvana easy? Must be way nicer than dealing with Craiglist foos.
