I had a '18 A6 as a rental last week. Compared to some of the other late model 3-series/C-class I drove....I am also looking at Audi as the top contender if I were to go for german luxury......

I won't make a blanket statement because I have limited seat time in both Merc and Zim Zimma...
but I didn't get the overwhelming must have one of these feelings until I drove that S5.

Sold my Jag last week. Got the check from Vroom today.
My wife and kids are leaving to Korea for 3 months so I decided to just keep the money and see what happens after wifey comes back. She hates CTR by the way
Might go family friendly and get a GX460 and make it a offroading+camping car and get a used 86 and make it a track car. Might cost about the same as getting a new CTR. hahaha
Upgrading to a new house next April, so will see how things pan out. But yes, I'm pretty excited with the profit I made from leasing this Jag for 6 months.

Congrats on the new house. Are you shopping or already working a deal on one?
F3X is meh as far as BMW goes. I have had 3 now and it is still meh to me even as a owner

I am willing to Jump ship to S5 sportback... But Merc? C43? drove it and didnt like it. It is more meh than my F30 340i.
If it were not for the seasonal mega-contrasts, I would've also heavily considered the Alfa.
Yeah, all comparos and reviews of the C43 is that it is not as good as Audi. And the guys I know who work on cars all said to pick the Hyundaudi over MB for reliability...and even more so given the brutal winters here.

I am not sure Alfa is the right car for you considering how much bitching you had done already with Audi..
Alfa is for people who got nothing else to do but bring the car to dealership every morning due to a new issue overnight every night... But i heard the drive makes up for it...

CSL Rep E46? CSL Rep wheels, trunk, bumper? CF intake and Laguna the city or the color?

think E46 as S2000 with more power and comfort

E9X lost some of it but still retained the core.
F3X went to the opposite end of the spectrum
G30 somewhere in the middle now.

but it drove like shit when he finally let me get on it on the way to the bank.
I'm like this can't be normal...he's like brooo you're just not used to German power.
I told him if BWM performance cars drove like this they would be out of business.
Yeah, Laguna Seca blue IIRC? With all the csl body panels and trunk and wheels.
I had it put on a lift and my guy was like nawww player...I still wanted it.

the plan was to sell the S2000 to @thoiboi
the second I walked on the deal I called him and told him sorry fuck that shit!
I went home and kissed the steering wheel and sucked the tailpipe!

This is how I want my car selection to be for the family.
If 3 cars, One big car for the family, one sedan or wagon for family automatic, and one fun car with manual.
If 2 cars, One big car for the family, one sedan or wagon for family manual.
I was going for that 2 cars solution, so Sienna and CTR. Would have been perfect. But wife hates CTR, it's understandable too.
So I'm leaning toward 3 cars option. Sienna+whatever wifey wants (she likes Macan, Audi Q7 or Avant)+BRZ.
Definitely not into Golf R. That car looks way too boring inside and out to me. So much more value in terms of performance for CTR in that segment.
S4 is a great car but would have just kept the Shaguar if I wanted a fast sedan.
I only like Audi wagons. MB wagon I would consider owning is the E Class estates but those are super pricey.
My ideal option would be offroading/camping GX460 + track prepped BRZ Limited + wifes choice of car.
Definitely not interested in GTi, Golf R

You did love your fast sedan but when someone offers you 6 or 7 grand profit on a depreciating asset 6 months in you'd be a fucking idiot not to jump on that. You and I have similar goals (considering I have a household of 6 when we have all the kids together).
My only consideration is that none of my vehicles can do the same thing...they all serve a different porpoise.
Yukon and Odyssey can fit everyone and it's nice to be able to have either one down for repair and not really stress it...plus, Ody is great for Disney runs and trips to
Tennessee to see J's dad (although Yukon made that trek last summer) and Yukon is great for Home Depot runs and driving over shit when I'm feeling like I'm not a real man.
S2000 for lightweight stick shift fun and weekend getaways...S4 for DSG and some torque and great daily driving. Honda Shadow for when I'm feeling like I need the kids
to put some respek on my name (I wear cutoff leathers).
I like where your head is at and having 3 months to make a decision is awesome...always looking, reading up on, looking for a deal...so much fun. Ideally I should sell the Yukon
for a Jeep Wrangler for J since that's what she really wants and she doesn't really "need" an 8 passenger vehicle all of the time. She loves being able to take the kids and their friends
to school but realistically she could do that in the Yukon. OR Sell the Ody and get an FJ Cruiser that she also loves and then keep the Yukon for family duties.
It's really just a shell game of swapping out vehicles. I decided after my black TL that I really wanted to just experience a lot of car brands and different kind of cars. That's the only
way you can become a well versed car guy...first hand experience.
If she's down to have a cool 3 row kid hauler, no need to get a van.
Push for that route.. get what you want.
Sad that a CTR or track BRZ is what your heart desires.

ATS-V Manny.. just sayin'
Good prices.

That's an excellent option but every time I pulled up with the CTS-V I felt like I was big brother and I don't think
I'd like being on the other end of that.
That said, sweidit could make a fortune selling upgraded interior pieces to the Domestic crowd.
Business tax writeoff!

M2 Comp? i mean it is probably one of the best driver's car outside of Hardcore Sports cars... and it is still somewhat practical... way more practical than BRZ...

If wife chooses Q7, we will sell our Sienna of course. Then we would probably have a GX and BRZ.
BRZ is the best track car since the consumables are extremely low. Pretty reliable car. It doesn't have to be practical since it will just be a fun manual car.
The only Cadillac I like is the CTS Vagon.
Audi Allroad has been discontinued in America I think. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a A6 Avant with 3.0T engine but seems like only RS6 Avant is coming to us.
