AMC - bulletproof engines.

20V 5 Cylinder Audi. (forget model number) That engine is bullet proof.

Also, 4g63 from DSM is a personal fav (biased cause of the rally car)

Don't you mean 4G63T, who wants the non-turbo engine.

2JZ-I-6 for smoothness, can be slow with 225hp, Twin Turbo for 320hp, Twin Turbo with BPU for about 400hp+ and single turbo for SKY'S THE LIMIT 1000 plus, without leaking any oil and as reliable as day one.
So it gets my vote. I can't say it's the best since I haven't driven all the cars listed.

i love the 4G63 in the Evo...

btw the SBChevy's are pimp and the old schoo Hemi's...

of course Skyline's and the Supra's are up on the top list as well...

this is just too hard of a decision

some of the early production 2001 M3 models had motor problems, but have long been fixed. it's still a dumb fast motor.

Inline 6's own.

S54 - E46 M3
S52/M52 - M3/3-series E36 motors
RB25DET/RB26DETT - Skyline GTS, GTR motors
2JZGTE/2JZGE - Supra Turbo/non turbo.

I dont see it making that much. They (GM) tested the c6 and it ran 12.5 at 115.
It weighs 50lbs more than the current z06. So about the same.

zo6 ran 12.2 at 117 (GM, Motortrend)

the man is correct.

Man those engines are sweet though. If you hone the engine real nice, i'm talking 4 angle valve jobs, new cams, maybe 1 mm oversized lifters, a waterless cooling system, ahhhhh, so great.

Even the stock 14b turbo it comes with is decent. These car are so easily modded.

I want to build a project one just for fun. Beating a mustang in your 4 cylinder talon is a great feeling. The rally car i have now is tuned for high horsepower yea, but its also made to be reliable. I'm running high fuel pressure and regulated air and even with the upgraded turbo i'm still not trying to pump up the lbs. of boost. If i did though, it would be real fun. Just a FMIC and i'm chillin.

And its not even ricer. AMERICAN MADE.

not that it really matters but, whatever.

I still think that the E36 OBD I are the best engines out for the M3 as far as reliablity and horsepower.

I've seen m3's at 180 K miles that still hold GREAT compression. So sweet.
