I'm a bit behind on that segment. And the appearances of the small CUVs may be dated to previous gens as well. I'll have to Google it when I'm motivated. The good news is, I'm out of that segment soon and don't care anymore.

But, going by default, I guess the MINI is the best looking of ALL of them...so, I'd go with that. If Acura made an IDX or something, I'd pick that by default because I just need to upgrade the tires and then be able to beat a Koenigsegg.

Saw a Q3 in person, interior is horrible for a vehicle with that price tag. Econobox status bruh

you want me to pretend to be SSFTSX and starting posting pictures for u? BTW: Acura already has something and it s out in Asia for a while now... it is just a matter of time before they release it in the US. Acura CDX - of course with HR-V's sorry ass engine.

Don't hate, mang. You put some high-end Dunlops or whatever, and it'll be like strapping the F-14's engine into it.

Yeah my fiancee has the HR-V and it has no balls. She went from a 2.4 Accord so she lost that torque too.

Mother-in-law has it. They live in a pretty crowded part of Austin so the car works, but yeah it's a little too anemic for my taste.

With the 6MT, the HR-V wasn't terrible, but still pretty pokey. Also, the rev hang was abhorrent.

This Q3 is still based upon a ten-year old Tiguan platform IIRC, which is why it has the shitty 2.0T and not the newer one. Europe has the new Q3 and it’s a much better vehicle.

Audi should be ashamed and no one should buy the American Q3 until they replace it.

You give it a white trim around that grill and that Owdee looks like it was having some um...white sugar.

Pretty sure that is headed our way as the 2019 Q3.

If my Golf TDI had driven like the current Q3 I might not have been interested in the A4 I bought. Would have never leased the Golf for that matter.

I don’t mind the look of that new Q3. I might be horrendously wrong, but I think it would really good if the grey grill outline could be modded to be black. Whether it is wrapped, or painted, or whatever.

Quick, someone photoshop that pic!!

I thought the new body style Q3 has yet to launch in Europe? The EU market gets the 2.0T from the GTI, the US market gets the POS from before. I thought the body was the same though...

Also, that picture is particularly fugly and I think is the concept car... I believe this is the production model:

Production looks a billion times better. Of course I wouldn't be caught dead in a CUV... unless I get to drive my sister's Macan

I'm sure there will be a Porsche version of the Q3 before you know it.

Just saw a new UX at the dealer. Good CT replacement, but the wheel cladding and wheel offset leave a lot to be desired. Will sell like hotcakes I am sure.

Wifey wants to replace her G37 with a Q7.

Hope the 2019s will reduce the prices of the 2018.

Why not just grab a CPO 2017 for far less?

Well it's a small Audi designed solely for people who want the badge, what do you expect?

Yeah, with Audis, if you're willing to drive a bit (ie go to another dealership) and get a CPO you can save a nice chunk of change because the new ones are notoriously expensive.

Insanely underpowered, unfortunately. 0-60 in 8.9 seconds

I don't own fast cars, but that's disgustingly slow.

Sounds faster than the CT200h I owned for 11 months. It was like sleeping with a SSBBW, biggest mistake of my life.

Starting right at $30,000 if I read the price release correctly today.

Performance will be a strong after thought for it. If it's anywhere as nice inside as the new ES, yeah, it'll definitely sell well for the price.

Didn't know exactly where to post this, so decided to do so here.

The Mid-2000s Were a Golden Age for Acura

[...]

To me, Acura reached its peak in the mid-2000s. That was when Acura figured out just the right blend of luxury, style, performance, value and that rock-solid Honda reliability, creating a luxury brand that was distinctly different and arguably better than Lexus and Infiniti.

Super random thought.

Majofo, you right all along.

I was watching Jay Lenos' Garage on CNBC the other day on TV (not the youtube show) and they had a little car trivia game show at the last 5min. Matt Farah was teamed up with this other dude, who clearly didn't know as much as Matt in terms of knowledge (which was kinda impressive tbh), and while they got all the answers right, Matt pretty much made real douchey jokes about how bad his teammate's auto knowledge was.

/endrandomthough

ps - btw, jay leno is cool cat, his shows are underrated imo

I sat in an A3 once and thought the same thing. I didn't even bother to test drive it because of how much I disliked the interior.

My godfather used to meet with Jay and a bunch of other hot rod guys on the weekend. Jay would bring cool hot rods every weekend. I never got to go, but the meetup and cruise was very low key. I don't think they do them anymore.

Now that's cool. I've seen lot of vids of people recognizing Leno and he smile and waves back, so awesome. Ain't too good for the everyday folks who enjoy nice cars.

His youtube show is great too, very very underrated. He'll ask some very tough questions to the owner/rep of the car about a specific design element or history, or he gives great stories/history/context to a car that you'd not known before.
