I was no longer surprised when I saw what it looks like a plate from the Middle East on the back. Too many videos of those stupid rich assholes doing that stuff in the UK.

On my first one, I had a couple of situations where the car idled really rough at start up and then a "Service Engine Soon" message came up on the MFD, along with a "Reduced Power" message (i.e. Limp Mode). I took it in to a dealer, it was quickly diagnosed and I had the car back in 24 hours.

This time around, I haven't had the rough idle issue at all, but I've had two situations where I was just driving along and got the "Service Engine Soon" and "Reduced Power" light out of nowhere. In both cases, the power was reduced by the control unit, but the engine ran fine. I've checked with my Service Adviser who said he agreed with me on my thinking that this was probably the HPFP and he ran my VIN to make sure I am under the extended warranty of 120K (I am). So, I'm really just waiting for the lights to hit again and I'll make an appointment.

I've never had the car leave me stranded for this issue, or any other. I had a plastic charge pipe break once, but even then the car ran on limp mode and I was able to drive it to the dealership the next day.
thanks for the info, great to hear it gives you warning signs. nobody likes to be stranded. I totally love this car, btw. I had owned a comparatively meager 2004 325i sedan 5MT (same color combos, oddly) in the past and this thing is such a contrast. That 325 did leave me stranded in a parking lot once, due to fuel pump.

I know there are many tuning options, no need to research that before buying. oh and I did know about JB4+ whatever, I didn't know it stands for juicebox haha

From what I've read on FChat, it's a royal family from Qatar, so they are "untouchable".

A pissed off crazed citizen isn't going to care if someone gets hurt & no higher authority steps in.

That's why I said there'd be no immunity on actions taken by my part. If they think their ass is untouchable from my foot, they'd be sorely mistaken.

So I need some opinions here and peoples thoughts on what I should do. I bought a new car private sale from someone that had a loan through a bank. It takes forever long to try and get the title from the bank. I am supposed to be leaving to go out of town on Thursday and most likely will not have the title yet nor will I have any time if I do just receive it on Wednesday to get the vehicle actually registered. I have the bill of sale that we both signed along with it being notarized. I also already have insurance on the vehicle in my name. Should this be sufficient for traveling out of state should I get pulled over or would you cancel your plans due to something like this?

Everywhere I've owned a car I've been able to get temp plates from the DMV to roll on while things get settled out. Paper plates and insurance should cover things, bill of sale would be icing.

Plus out of state is always funky. You can try to claim "in transit" after buying... You're just taking the scenic route home, after all!

I've had similar scenario in the past (21 days to get the title) and in at least one case there was an "expedited" option to pay some money to get the title in 2 days. Ask about that? I found it worth the cost.

So, I saw my first 2016 Maxima on the road today and thought it was rather interesting.

Well, horrific is what I meant.

Nissan styling has always been a bit edgy, but man this car is busy.

Didn't look bad in person. Smaller than the past ones from what I can tell from the exterior.

North Carolina is stupid. They will not give temporary plates without a title. Worst shit I have ever heard. I was able to get paper plates for 15 days in PA before when I lived there.

The previous owner talked to his bank and they gave him a process to get things expedited. They said he would have the title in 3 days if we did it. We followed that process to a T and they took 3 days just to get the loan off his account and then now told him when he asked to have it overnighted even if we had to pay that they couldn't and it would be 3-8 days more.

The front end of this & the new Murano are just awful to me.
Not a fan of the goofy C-Pillar either.

The side profile & rear end (c-pillar excluded) look ok, though.

Interviewing with a local BMW dealership tomorrow. Wonder how it is there.

Does anybody have an experience working at a dealership? I'm going in for a full-time assistant for #1 sales person there. This wasn't posted anywhere, only through connection. No floor sales activity. The person has been working there for 15 years, she only works on a repeat customer base.

Just trying to see how it is since I'm trying to change my career anytime now.

oh that sucks if I was in that position I would try to talk to different people and see if they could help me - be persistent - keep pushing - sucks you have to do that though, but banks can suck like that
